Did a weight comparison between a lightweight XR rear axle and a DLUX Superlite axle.

40 grams difference and I could still save some weight with RCbros gears.

Build looks great man! Thanks a ton for the support! I cant wait to see what you think of this car compared to the last.

If you want to make yourself feel even better, re weigh those axles complete with hubs (Axial with hexes and hubs).

Another box of DLUX goods came in this weekend, now I can finish up my build! I was going to try to have the axles done and installed before this past Sunday for the comp at Fort Wetherill RI but Tuesday night as I was swapping over my V2 brass knuckles from my rig I realized the front bearing was a different size coming from XR uni's to Ofna uni's so I had to throw the rig back together at the last minute with the old axles and order new knuckles for 16mm bearings. I figured if I had to order those.... well what the hell, I should just order the loaded dice weight system and wheels to go with everything else!! I could probably light a cigarette off my Paypal account right now

I think you will need to put on some spacers off some kind on the rear weight holders just to get the brass 5-6mm longer out in the wheel..
On my rear weights I use pivolt balls for spacers and they make the lenght perfect

I probably will have to space them out a little, I'm waiting until I get everything mounted up before I set up the rear weights

Ok, is it sick that I brought crawler parts to put together on vacation? Seems completely fine to me since the wife and kid go to bed at 9:00, what the hell else am I going to do in the White Mountains, NH in a hotel room at night, well I'm sure there are a lot of ideas out there but this is a PG13 forum!!! Putting together my sweet ass Dlux wheels for the loaded dice weights and getting my links all set up.

Building these wheels are different than any other set of wheels I have ever built. You will have do trim down your foams a little bit to fit over the center plates and spacers. You also trim away the small section of the tire that is the beadlock section to give a nice flat surface for gluing. Then basically build the tire from the inside out. It is a really cool design and once you build the first wheel, the other 3 go much faster!

i was able to squeeze my narrow ci foams over the loaded dice wheels without any cutting. and on my particular application i also had to put a small spacer between the loaded dice weights and the v2 knuckles so the weights would not rub the inside of the inner lip on the wheels. i was also forced to try many different foams because ci was out of stock when i got my stuff and nothing i tried worked well for me except the ci foams.

Crawlerwon, interesting you foams cleared your dize weights. Mine were rubbing like crazy when i tired to just stretch the foam over the wheel structure.

Looking good Blandon!

I felt that if I tried to squeeze the foams over the rings that the foams would get distorted and maybe not function properly. I had extra foams so I gave it a try and seems like it will work. I like your build by the way, came out nice

My 5.25's got mushy after trimming them, but i actually liked how they turned out. I just have to keep my eyes out for holes, they get swallowd up easily if im not paying enough attention.
