| Axle weight Berg v3
Does anyone know the weight of the front and rear axle on a Berg v3? How does the axle weight compare to Berg v1 or bully 2 axels? |

Give me a day and I will weigh mine for you. You want just the axle, no motors or servo? And do you want the weight in Grams or ounces? I think my scale will do both. I will post pictures of the axle on the scale. Also just to be clear you mean the Berg Tracer V3 axles right?

Stock V1 are 10.7oz ea or 303.33g ea. I would guess all versions will come in the ball park about the same weight. The trick is to have parts that can get you lighter. I need to weigh my superlites but if I remember right, they are about 7oz front and under 4oz rear, 11oz total for both. The problem with V2 and V3 gear boxes is that the gear box itself is really thick and the gears are wide and heavy. |

Thanks a lot Erik. So, basically to loose some weight we need to lower the outer diameter of the tubes with lathe. And maybe shave the v1 gear housing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | |

Okay here you go, my axles with out servo or motors. I hope these are the axles you are talking about. Front 341grams or (12oz) Rear 219grams or (7.8oz) Total 560 or (1lb 4oz) I don't know why the picture of both axles on the scale reads 563? Operator error. I did check the scale with some 1/4 oz lead weights. And it was zeroed out with the paper on it so the axles would show up in the picture better. |

I'm in the process of building a new rig and will be dissembling my Tracer to get the electronics. I weighed it before taking any thing off, and with out wheels and tires it weighed in at 3lb 3oz (1360 grams). That's with all electronics installed and no battery.

No I won't be doing any mods to these axles, I decided to go Dlux. I ordered the Super lite axles from Erik and have a different thread going on that build. I would like to see other peoples mods on this axle version though. |

Okay here are the axles. I might need to research the knuckle weights for you. Or if you need me to weigh them with out the knuckles let me know. Front 543g Rear 158. Both have SAF Dlux gears and Dlux FBA shaft. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
