Default Dlux kit... 101...

With my son jumping into pro, for the first time, at our last EPA comp and doing Extremely well.. It's time for his own!

I don't mean he did well, in placing(which he did, lol), but in driving and handling dig and burn.. I saw something, in him, that jumped me into high gear...

It couldn't of come at a better time! With the start of the "Dlux kit".. it was like it was meant to be!

Straight to Erik, I went!
After switching to Dlux Superlite's on my pro, I couldn't be more confident in my rigs reliability..
So what else would you want to give a newbie driver, to thrash on, that's 11yrs old!?

It's here, it's here!!!

Packaged awesome, semi prebuilt(which will help many ppl be able to build this, knowing where stuff goes before taking apart to build), and looks Great!

I'll be getting better pics, as I go.. I'll try to explain as much as possible..

This needs to be built and on the rocks, in less then 2 weeks! Good thing i have a full free day tomm....

As for electronics... Holmes Hobbies and Hitec.. HH servo to come.. (he can't have my spare 7950) lol..

Is the kit using the traxxas steel links and he just puts his bends in them? Chassis looks great all together.

OK, so I said I was doing the rear but ended up in the front.. had to hunt down some C's..
NOS

Nope, after switching to non 8°, I had to go that route..
There they are..

Now where to start.. Screw's are included, to mount the tubes.. very easy!
Erik only taps the tube flange about half way. That way the second half cuts it's own threads and stays nice and snug fitting..
The flanged bearing goes in the aluminum spacer..

That way gears fit as they should

Non flanged bearings go in the short tube side and get held in by the CF piece..

All together and looks Great!

Now to drill and set the shock an link mounts and the C's..
After some fancying up..

Fancy....

Thanks man!

While we are here.. let's give that locker a better look..

Dlux Missing Link, locker..
Lightened and hardened..

Gear goes to the long side, for proper fitment..

How it works..
To keep the user friendly use of Dlux FBA and XR length shafts, everything is offset in the locker..

What it looks like inside the tube, view..

And that's how that beauty works! Ingenious!!!!

After thrashing on the Missing Link and the FBA shafts, in my truck, I'll be moving towards that, in Aiden's truck.. after the NENC..
Only so much coin can be justified, to see how he takes to pro.. (specially when stock ones are sitting here) lol..

More to come..
Tomm should be electronics and conformal coating.
Wed, rear axle
Thurs, assembly and hopefully rtr..

I need to get this done, so he can get some practice and so I can get some practice!

Excellent! Nice to see the way the kit is coming together. Did the internal pieces of the axles come with the kit?
