You need to clearance the inside of the chub so the shoulder of the uni fits flush.

FBA axle shafts

Check the first picture on post #4 in this thread. It shows the chubs and you should be able to tell where they are clearanced.

Its normal to have to grind on the inner part of the chub on some AX10 chubs. Not sure why but some of the AX10 chubs need it and some let it pass.

If I have the missing link locker out of the gear case, both front axles should fit in and not push the other one out right? I'm just test fitting everything together and when I have the cases all assembled with gears I can't seem to fit the axle all the way into the locker on the short tube side. I have been grinding off some of each axle on the inner end per the instructions too.
I am just going slow, so I build this baby right.

So now I have the front axle all assembled and I have even put the motor in and powered it up just to check it out. Everything seems fine, but before I put the screws into the Chubs and shock mounts do I have to take into consideration the clocking of the axles? Or do I need to come up with some links first?

Wait til you get links, chassis and shocks before you drill into your tubes. Pre drill and tap the link mounts while they are off of the axles.

What about the Chubs? How do I get the correct "angle" or Degree? I could look at it like a clock and then use the numbers as a general idea.

I put on the knuckles and then use an angle finder app on my phone to set the chubs. Just take the phone and lay it down on the top of the knuckle arm, find about 35* and then set the chub. Do the same for the other side.

I do 35* because I clock the case up about 10* this gives me a net 25* of caster, which I like.

I do the Chubs 2nd to last..... and the servo mount last of all. Then i use the angle finder trick like dlux has there.

Thank you for the advice. But I have to tap out and let Nerby149 take over. Not because I don't want to finish this build, but he is going to make links for me and needs everything to do that. So I am making arrangements to meet up with him and let him have at it. We have a comp on the 18th and I hope I can drive it for the first time then. He has been a great resource during this whole process and very helpful. And I can't praise Erik from Dlux fabrication enough, I will have to travel to a comp sometime to thank him in person.
Pictures of where I'm at in the next reply.

Well with some major help from Nerby149 I got this build crawling! I just crammed the electronics in for s quick test run and I can already notice the difference in how it crawls.

Now to fine tune it a bit, and off to a local comp Sunday.

Well it's finally ready to drive. I can't wait for Sunday! After the comp I'm sure to have changes to make and then paint the lean. Gonna put some stickers on it to jazz it up a bit. She weighs in at 4lb 5oz with battery. Thanks to Erik at Dlux and Nerby149 for all the help. And thanks to everyone who posted their suggestions.

She ran real good at the comp on Sunday, I had a blast. I took some video and will try and post it. The next project will be to narrow my Ruptures, they seemed to work for me but everyone said they will work better narrow. Then a Paint job, that is always fun in my opinion. But what I need most is wheel time, my driving skills are lacking. Need to tweak my Radio settings so I can switch from Dig to 4X4 to Burn much smoother.
I have already switched from the Tekin FXR's to a Holmes hobby BRXL dual mini. Now the electronics all fit in nice and a smaller foot print. Not sure if I like the Holmes Hold yet, time will tell. More later.

Took a little time but here is a video of my first crawl with the Dlux axles.
I clearly need more practice driving, and the first thing I learned is that there is time limit to adhere to. I was concentrating too much on the controls on my radio. I have already made some adjustments to make it easier to Dig and Burn. The next comp is this Sunday, I hope to finish each of my runs without pointing out or timing out.
