Default ssd pro scx10 c-hubs with berg knuckles

ive got a set of berg axles with VP knuckles and super 300's. im wanting to make tubes so need to run a scx10/ax10 c-hub.

will the ssd pro scx10 c-hubs work? i can t see anything about them being 8degree ( i need 0)

https://www.tcscrawlers.com/SSD-Alum...sd00068-72.htm

axial are ideal but they are silly money in the uk (~$50)

thanks in advance

Yes, those are the 0°. I just used them on my Berg with DLux knuckles.

I also use them on my rigs.

I actually prefer that they have more material within them then the axial ones.

The axial ones only have the 4 little nipples, I found the SSD hold much better on the tubes.

Sloski is an 8* supporter (even though 8* on a comp crawler is bush league).

Alright, I will answer my own questions then...

Why SSD?
Because they are a better looking part to me than the Axial ones. They look
to have more material where I have seen the Axial part fail in the past.
I also do not need the extra hole for caster adjustment since my tubes can
be rotated infinitely at the gearbox. I also don't like the Axial logo plastered
on my pretty MOA. It ain't no XR10!

Why 0°?
My driving has not been as good since I went to 8° a few years ago. I have
had a couple times when I could actually sit and watch my car do
something I wasn't expecting it to do and I attribute it to the angle of the
stub shaft either loading or unloading the balance of the car, and I think 0°
may make it more neutral. Who knows if it will help or not, but worth trying.

Why Dlux?
With these knuckles I can use more weight. Again, I want more weight to
make my car more neutral and less twitchy. Not only that, but they seem
to be strong as hell and are the only ones I know of that I can switch c-
hubs between 0° and 8° if I want to and keep all the same parts!

Yes, but I don't care about my 1:10 self centering the steering, the servo does that for me...

The whole reason 8* was invented was for on road manners and getting a car to turn at higher speeds properly. If youre head is not in your ass, you would know that is completely different than slow, off road crawling.

You would have to be an old ignorant douche bag to think that 8* was designed around rock crawling performance. To my knowledge, its never even been tried in the real world. But,... since I guess a car or F150 runs 8*, that must mean an off road only car needs it too?

I love Sloskis argument towards it too.. "its proper". Good tech slowski, good tech.

That's interesting. Why has the RC crawling world gone 8* KPI then, because the Wraith came out with it? (This is a serious question)

I can understand scale trucks having 8* KPI as they are copying 1:1 none crawler axles. But going by what is used in 1:1 crawling (as stated above), zero degree should be an optional upgrade for RC crawlers built from scale trucks.

Sound like we need 0 degree chubs and knuckle that suit wraith tubes/universals

SSD already makes them but won't sell the c hubs separately from the scx10 v1 housings.

Sort of true but not exactly...

The AR60 splined C hubs on those axles are design for SCX10 CVD spec so dont fit AR60 CVDs.

The reason for putting Ar60 splines on those axles was at the time people were doing XR mod using AR60 C hubs/knuckles. So it was easy to do on those axles.

The C hubs were only made so they were still compatible with stock SCX10 knuckles/cvds. So those C hubs are not correct spec anyway.

What about knuckles then?

So they are needed as a set.

Not true using your (and other "normal" knuckle manufacturers) parts, you're correct. But the people that have contacted you about the c hubs all use knuckles made by dluxfab.com. They can be used with a multitude of different c hubs as well as switch between 0* scx10 and 8* ar60 easily.

So yea, your c hubs are exactly what we need but none of us are going to buy the quantity you wish to move atbthe price you are after per pair. These are for a comp crawling market which is a smaller niche, you'd move them if they were available.

If DLux who make the knuckles they fit is not confident in selling them then I have no reason to believe SSD could sell enough of them. They are too niche. I'm not going to make a batch to sell only 20 sets and be stuck with the rest of them and make a loss.
