I had a nice buggy I built but it was 15 years ago. I am finally getting into this hobby the way I want to. I have a 1:1 1972 Bronco and have always wanted a scale version. Trying to make it as close to the 1:1 as possible. I have had the 1:1 for 23 years now, it was my first car. Just bought a CC01 and dove in. I have about two or three nights into it and am having a blast. Already done a little mod to the steering (not front servo yet) and switched all the plastic bearings out for AVID bearings. I changed the motor out and am cutting the "brick" off tonight. I have done a TON of reading on here and appreciate all your help. I have already learned a lot from all of your threads. My plan on other mods in the near future is first wheels and tires (havent decided on which yet or size. Also, four link and a hardened drive shaft. I want to upgrade the steering with maybe GPM. After that, winch and plate bumpers and interior. I am new to the hobby but hopefully my fab skills and knowledge of the 1:1 version will help me end up with a decent scale truck. Thanks in advance for any advice. Tyler

Here's my predicament, or where I need assistance...

I have a bone stock, never driven CC01

I bought the JUNFAC 4 link kit, and the GPM alloy front end parts.

I'd like to buy scale shocks, am I correct in thinking is need 70mm like these at rc4wd? link here

also on the topic of electronics, I'm gonna pick up a TRX water proof servo, I have a 4PK from my racing days so thats my radio. If I can get away with the stock Tamiya ESC is the RC4wd 45t motor sufficent? I'm not looking to go 50mph in my front yard, but I'm also not looking to roll at 1/16mph like a comp crawler. some middle ground would be great, brushless would be better! lol

I'm just trying to finish this ride to have some fun with RC again, I can't afford, nor do I have the time to race anymore so this is my second best

Hey guys figured I would go ahead and post some pics. It's far from being done but I have to show someone and this will also keep me motivated on it. I have been wanting to build a prerunner out of a cc01 for a long time but never did. I sold my last cc01 power to the portals rig awhile back and my buddy Chris (benzoel) picked it up from this kid off Craigslist. He brought it over to show me the shape it was in and after talking to Chris he told me he had a cc01 chassis laying around that was perfect for this project. So after some trading I got it home and couldn't resist on getting the front end wider. I plan on going through this whole rig and replace Alot of the parts.

Well that's how it sits as of now and will be for awhile till after I move and finish my Tf2 build. I plan on running a honcho cab and bed sides and possible a tube rear end with custom lower trophy truck style link bars. Wanna get a new tub and I'll probably end up getting a aluminum bottom skid plate for the lower arms to bolt too for extra strength and possibly cut it up and modify it so it gives the front arms some angle rather then being parallel with the ground. Thinking it will help it take bumps a bit better at high brushless speeds.
