Previous setup was 7-cell 4800mah nimh, 2xmamba max esc's, integy 65t lathe's with 8t pinions, 2xSpecktrum S6030's and 40series losi crawlers. I started running a 3S lipo and now when I turn both axles the truck goes into convulsions! Also, I smoked the rear motor. It only happened once but I know its time to replace them. Why did it happen and how do I prevent it? My guess is I need a BEC, but have no idea how to wire it with my setup.

Also I noticed that when running the rear steers more than the front. I reversed the motors and the same thing happened to the previously rear servo. Is this normal? This is a 4 link crawler chassis if that makes a difference.
