I got a hilux project that i'd love to puttem on. But, at 10$ a spring, i figured i'd ask 1st. I have other rigs that have nice soft suspensions, & dont mind the limited articulation that leaf rigs tend to have, but wouldn't mind a tad more flex. I'm running the soft reds right now, & whle theyr softer than the stockers, they still leave alot to be desired. My suspension is pretty stock otherwise. As much as I like MIP driveshafs, I used the axial driveshafts for weight.
Xr10 skid, which made mounting the transmission a pain in the arse

I'm working on paint now. I'll drive it for a while then add more scale stuff later.

Just picked up a tamiya hilux project. The original owner pulled the stock tranny, in favor of an axial trans mounted upfront, feeding power to a mid-chassis mounted rc4wd disruptor t-case. After a few mins, the motor is getting hotter than i'd like. I replaced the bind prone mip's with some silky smooth traxxas units off another rig. Didn't really solve anything. I checked &double checked that all drivetrain pieces are spinning freely. The motor is an hh 35t, in near new shape. Could this be from all the torque coming out of only one output on the axial trans? I thought i remembered a friend running into issues using only one output a few yrs ago. Not sure tho. The rooster/35t is out of another rig that i ran extensively with no issues whatsoever. Only other thing i can think of is i have a 32p spur w/23t pinion.I don't run 32p much, but the gearing seemed reasonable. I consider myself a decent builder, but am clearly lacking knowledge in an area here! Ideas?
