Working out the final details this weekend, hope to have a draft of the rules and any other info posted here and/or the competition page as soon as it comes in. Course is looking to be pretty cool so far, I'll post pics of the track and take any suggestions as we are still in the building stages of the new course layout. We are also keeping a nice pile of rocks so free crawl will always be available during regular business hours and during the 8/23 event.

Here are pics and drawings of the track layout... I ran the really rough layout today with my slightly modded AX10. I used stock gearing (kit version) an Integy 27 Turn Motor and a basic cheap Dynamite 7.2v 1500mah battery not fully charged and on top (truck flipped a few times). Truck ran quick and was alot more nimble than I thought it would be. I got 3 strong laps (course is 165' center line, 5' wide lanes with parts that narrow to 3' and some open to 10') did not time them. The truck turned better on the loose dirt then I thought it would, climbed better than I thought. Real fun to drive, ballz out over the rough terrain, maybe 8-10 mph on the open straight aways but still had some slow precise climbing abilities. I will run a stronger battery at a lower postition for better handling and run time.

Course runs clockwise starting with a quick burst quickly narrowing to 3' wide S turn up the hill over the rocks, up to 3 different lines through the rocks, slow crawling for 8' or so, down the hill to a short straight away, quick burst of speed to a rocky hill, either jumping or slow climbing depending on your line. Down a small slope slanted left to a hairpin turn up hill across a rock ledge, if you don't fall over it will open up to another short straight away back over the rocky hill down another straight away to the finish line.

This picture was taken on first day of build, a lot of work still needs to be done but we'll be ready...

Also check the rules Fred Reep with www.rcmonstermotorsports.com has for the competition coming up 8/23/08 by visiting his website.

2.2 class will have a 13.5 (27 turn) motor limit.
Entry fees are $15 for first truck, $10 for each additional.
Trophies and more prizes to be announced soon.

Sign up and more info coming soon...

Just read over the rules...sounds like a lot of fun. Will there be any practice time available on the track before the date of the event?

I think I may actually race. I'll probably also set up another truck for a friend of mine to race. Now I just need to pick up a 13.5 motor and figure out how to cram an Orion 3200mAh Lipo in the trucks.

I hope by next week I will have the course complete, stop by anytime the store is open to test your rig. There is a map to our store at the bottom of my main webpage www.extremehobbyzone.com

Pictures will be posted Saturday of my progress on the course.

So far JConcepts will offer a Crawler body & a T-shirt as prizes, working on some more prizes. As always RCMM & eHz will provide trophies/medals for top finishers.

We will be taping this event and I will post as soon as possible after the event. Also if I have time that day I will set up our live webcam which can be viewed at www.ehzracing.com

The layout will provide 2 courses with many different lines. 1 will be the rock cross layout for the 27turn/13.5 rigs and maybe nitro tough truck with a 165' center line, but I am working real hard to make a really cool, technical slow crawl course in and around the Rock Cross course. We hope to hold many events here so stay tuned!! And as always the track is open for use any time during store hours, free until the end of the year, we may impose a small membership fee starting next year just so we can keep the course the best it can be.

Shop Hours
M-F 11am-7pm
Sat 10am-6pm
Sun 12pm-5pm

See you all the 23rd!!!! (except you Steve :-()

We still would love for you to come out, check the rules there should be an unlimited class and if not we'll make one, I know a few guys that have rigs that won't fit the Rock Cross Comp, we will have a regular Crawl Comp too.

I might make it. That will give me 1 last chance to run my rigs before I ship them to Utah for the Nats.
