Default Water/Mud proofing a motor?

The mud hole fried the brand new 35t motor in my scx10 bronco within about 30 seconds. I cleaned the truck up and slapped in another brand new one and tested it in about a foot of clean clear water. Within about 50 seconds it too fired. Any thoughts?

I think there is something else going on to be honest. What setup are you running?

Shoot, both of mine didn't quick working until they got complete submerged in that thick stuff at the gtg. Both of my motors were literally packed with mud. Are all of your connections good? Maybe you need some resistors/balancers. It's not doing the same as the axial motor that you used in the silver F350 is it?

DC brushed motors will run underwater. Not sure about the circuit boards that some have...

Used to break in motors by running them underwater. Put some filter around any openings to keep junk found in the water from getting in and around the armature, bearings and brushes.

Running a traxxas XL5 water proofed. Ive never had this happen with any other motor. My connections are fine. Theres no glitching, the motor just stops running.

There is no trash in the motors, so running a filter probably wont make any difference. I tested this last motor in clean water, and the one I had it in for the gtg wasnt running long enough to get packed with mud.

Andrew Im pretty sure theyre the older ones, any chance you might wanna tare them down for me and see what you think?

The truck ran perfect, no glitching, no shuttering, it even ran fine under water for almost a minute......untill the motor gave up the ghost.

Sorry if I missed it but what brand 35t motor is it I ran an integy 35t motor all day that day and it still ran when i got home I have a prefilter on mine but If you ran it in clean water your right it wouldn't make a difference but if you have the new style comp 35t motor it has a circuit board on the outside and would fry everytime thats what my dad just got sucked into buying and thank god he showed me before the comp b/c he would be dead in the water too

Make sure you break it in well. The motors are alot more tolerant if the brushes are seated well.
