i was reading all the rules and dont know if i missed this or its not mentioned. Do you have to run foam in your tires? I ask b/c ive got some new wheels and tires without foams in them, and i was planning on running them on my scx10 rig. Let me know.

Re: Floidra scale / g6 / ttc rules thread

i dont think foam is required because its an option or setting is my take on it

Over land team challange rules

RC Overland Team Challenge (RCOTC)

Rules & Guidelines:

No running allowed on the course unless section challenges require the team to run that specific section only.( A slow jog or fast walking to keep up with the vehicle is not considered running.) Running the course out side of these challenge sections will result in a DNF for that team. (There is absolutely NO penalty for reversing, passing or self recovery in the Overland Challenge). This is a challenge not a foot race and we want it to be a safe experience for everyone.

Drivers: (Will be allowed to catch their rigs in the event to avoid excessive damage or total loss. A 10 minute Hand of God penalty will be issued by the Trail Bossing Team.) This can never be used as strategic move on course or as a way to cross the finish line during a RCOTC event. All finishing vehicles must cross the finish line under their own power, being towed by a team mate or other competitor.

Judging System & Race Format:

2 teams at a time leave the starting line 3 minutes apart. They will be followed by their paired Trail Boss team on foot. The Trail Boss team is exactly what it sounds like. Each team is paired up randomly with another team. When one team is running the other team is judging / trail bossing. Another option for the Trail Bossing team is to have one team mate in the pits and one team mate in the field judging the paired team. This is a timed event. Best time with the least penalties and the most progression points wins.

Mandatory Event Items:

1.Tow strap
2.Spare tire
3.Winch * 1 out of 2 vehicles in the team MUST have a winch.*
4.Pull Pal and / or ground anchor.

Vehicle Specs: ( Scale Rigs Only )

1.9
Frame rail or custom tube chassis only (No Comp Chassis)

Max wheelbase: 13"
Max track width: 10.5"
(Topless vehicles must have a basic interior.)
4 wheel steering: yes
Dig units: yes
Under & Over gearing: yes

2.2
Frame rail or custom tube chassis only (No Comp Chassis)

Max wheelbase: 14"
Max track width: 14"
(Topless vehicles must have a basic interior.)
4 wheel steering: yes
Dig units: yes
Under & Over gearing: yes

Winching Guidelines:

All natural anchors or recovery gear:

Ground anchors will be set when natural anchors or recovery gear are not possible or available. PullPal or self recovery anchors mandatory. All recovery gear must be carried on the vehicle at all times when not in use of recovery. NO HAND OF GOD except when there is no other choice in excessive damage or total loss your vehicle. NO SHOE LACE WINCHING, NO JUDGE WINCH ALLOWED. There is no penalty for self recovery in the RCOTC.

Not following these winching guidelines will result in a ( DNF ) penalty for that team.

Ground Anchors include:

PullPals, custom ground anchors of all sorts, screw drivers, hex drivers, fishing hooks, custom winch hooks….etc.. All anchors and recovery gear must be carried on the vehicle at all times when not in use of recovery.

Applied Ground Anchor Pressure:

Pressure by hand is only allowed to secure the ground anchor when a natural or set ground anchor is not available and there is no “crack in the rock” or a team mate vehicle is not heavy enough. A team vehicle can always be used as a ground anchor and may have pressure applied to it in order to support a team vehicles weight during recovery. One of the team or another competitor vehicle can also park on the said ground anchor in order to secure it.
Please try to avoid these methods at all times in order to keep the scale realism of this event. Blatant miss use of this courtesy can result in a DNF if called by the trail boss. Final decision will be made by RCOTC staff if any dispute in the call.

Trail Marker Guidelines: ( TM )

100 - 300 TM per course:
Red flags are always on the right / passenger side of progressing vehicles showing the course direction at all times.
(No Reversing through the TM)

(Each Overland Challenge will be one large single course.)

All Trail Markers must be cleared by both vehicles before any team member can progress. All 4 tires of each vehicle must clear past the TM. Gates are not open. ( PENALTY FOR TOUCHING OR REVERSING THROUGH THE TM 2 MINUTE ADD ON). Each vehicle in the team that touches the maker can only be penalized twice per trail marker flag (4 min. per vehicle per TM). Just make it and clear the gate as a team. No straddling of gates.

This is a smart driving event your winch may be your last resort or it could be the only way....

TTC Section Guidelines: ( Team Trail Challenge ).

(No penalty for self recovery in the TTC boundaries).

TTC sections will be placed throughout the course randomly. These sections will test the individual driver skill and their rigs capability

No touching the TTC boundaries with the vehicles. = 3 min add on
No feet allowed in the TTC boundary areas = 3 min. add on

Team mate bumping is allowed in TTC sections.
Tow straps and winching allowed to assist progress.

Passing is allowed everywhere it is possible during an RCOTC event.

Over land team challange scoreing

R.C.O.T.C Score & Point System:

Guidelines:

Each driver course times and progression points will be kept as separate record from their team mates or paired solo drivers collected course times and progression points for the entire series even though they are collected as a team. This is for those who show up every time as a solo driver as well as the organized team that has a member out of commission and they use a fill in driver or lose their teammate in the middle of the season and have to be paired with a solo driver to finish the season. Keep in mind that your team mate may be your weakest or strongest link, so times and progression points will be affected differently on every course. Depending on how the day goes for those drivers, teamwork and the capability of the rigs. All course points will be collected as a team and recorded as individual drivers. (This goes for organized teams and partnered solo drivers). This may help you understand why an organized team is important for driver / team consistency. (Those who play together stay together).

The teams with the quickest course times, least amount of penalties, and the most progression points will determine the podium standings of each challenge. The teams or solo drivers that have completed the most events with the quickest course times, the least amount of penalties, and the most progression points of the series will determine who are the top teams / drivers of the series and who gets into the Series Championship at the end of the 6 events.

The top solo drivers will be randomly paired up with another top solo driver for the championship if they have not found a teammate by the end of the season on their own and registered said team with the RCOTC staff.

No Solo Driver Finishes:

Both vehicles in a team must cross the finish line as a team. No solo driver finishes, you leave as a team, you return as a team. This means towing your teammate or getting the rigs fixed and back on the trail under their own power to finish the course. If both vehicles in the team cannot progress any further on the course, they will DNF at the last point of progression / TM.

Trail Repair Guidelines:

Trail repairs are always allowed on course at all RCOTC events. (Vehicles should be pulled off to the side of the course for repairs). A driver can leave to get supplies while leaving a teammate with the vehicles on course if they wish to progress from the point of break down. If the damage is to extensive to fix on the trail and the vehicle/vehicles need to be removed from the course in order to be fixed, than the driver/drivers have the option to go “back to the shop”. Once the team is back under its own power they have to DRIVE their vehicles back to the point of the break down. The main course does not have to be followed and a faster more direct route that does not interfere with other drivers progression of the course is allowed and highly recommended.

The Last Chance Qualifier: (LCQ)

This will be for those teams and solo drivers that are just barely out of contention in the standings for a spot in the series championship. It will give a very small amount of drivers / teams that fought through all the challenges of the entire series a last chance invite to race against the top drivers one last time and possibility to take the championship race, but not the season.

Progression Points:

Each TM is considered a progression point of the course. For example,( if the course has 100 TM and a team or solo driver has finished the course, than each driver will receive 100 progression points for that event / course finish. This also applies to those drivers who only make it 50 TM, and have to leave the race. Whatever TM each driver makes it to if unable to progress any further or finish the course will be marked down on their score sheet as there final progression point of that course equaling 50 progression points for that driver and they will receive a set maximum course finish time for that event).

Course Time:

This is also a timed event. Teams will receive a set start time and will be racing against the clock as well as other teams. The clock will stop once the last team mate crosses the finish line. This affects the team and will be recorded as both drivers time for that course. Driver skill, trail knowledge, team work, trail penalties, and pure luck will determine a team’s overall finish time.

Course Penalties

1.Trail Marker : Vehicle hit / touch of TM = 2 min. penalty.
Reversing through TM is not allowed and should be marked as a 2 min TM penalty as well. (Red is always on the right).
Each TM hit / touch = 2 min add on to total course time. 4 min max. per driver / per TM. Each driver can only receive a penalty twice per TM. Winch lines do not count as a vehicle touch, a driver should not be penalized for his or her winch line touching the TM while in use or any other time. Remember, that each driver of a team has to clear each gate before progressing to the next. If a driver progresses through 2 TM with out there team mate it will count as a 2 min TM penalty and should be marked as a TM penalty on the score card. Bypassing a TM is not allowed and will result in a DNF.

2. Course Boundary: TTC ( Team Trail Challenge ) sections only. = 3 min penalty.
A vehicle touch to the ribbon or any boundary in a TTC section = 3 min add on to total course time. The driver’s feet must stay out of the boundary area at all times. This will also be treated as a boundary touch = 3 min add on as well. There is no limit to the amount of boundary penalties for each driver.( If the driver hits the TTC boundary 10 times then the score sheet gets marked 10 times in the proper location given on the sheet. Each mark equaling 3 min).

3. Hand Of God: (H.O.G) = 10 min penalty. ( THIS SHOULD BE A LAST RESORT ONLY )

This is only for that last resort to catch your vehicle before it is subjected to complete and total loss or destruction. This should not be used as common practice during a simple too bad roll over.. Each time this is used for each driver it will add 10 min every time. (The Hand Of God can never be used as a way to cross the finish line or as a strategic move during any RCOTC event).

4. D.N.F: ( Did Not Finish )

This is exactly what it sounds like. When a driver or drivers cannot complete the course they receive what is called a D.N.F. and mark down their last point of progression (TM). A TM section can never be bypassed. This action will result in a DNF for that driver and team. All winching guidelines must be followed or the Trail Boss has the power to suggest a DNF. The final say will be left up to RCOTC Staff if there is any dispute on the call. (Please follow the winching guidelines, this helps keep scale realism and competition).

(Remember to mark down the last TM progressed through. This is the drivers progression points. Don’t forget).

Re: Floidra scale / g6 / ttc rules thread

Here are the layouts for course design and the rules specific to this series.

Vehicle requirements for Top Truck Challenge event
- Top Truck rigs will be required to have a minimum of 20 scale points and no more then 40 will be given. Each scale point will be equal to .5 seconds off of the total time of the day.

Vehicle suggestions for Top Truck Challenge event
-Your vehicle will get wet and muddy, therefore it is highly suggested to be waterproof.
-It is suggested that the vehicle has a working winch, no buddy assistance will be allowed.
- This event will test the limits of the vehicles, therefore it is suggested to make the strongest vehicle possible.
- Mud is sticky, therefore it is suggested that wheel speed and torque be of high concern when preparing your vehicle.
-Be prepared to get wet, have fun, laugh and break some parts!

General scoring and course progress for Frame Twister, Rock Crawl and Tank Trap:
- Gates and boundaries if hit will be a 30 second penalty.
- If a course can not be completed the driver must call out to stop time, all gates left will be added to the time the vehicle was on course, 1 gate left is equal to a 1 minute time penalty.
-winching, rear steer, dig and reverses are all allowed and are not penalized.
-winching must be off a fixed object or a rig, no assistance is allowed during the winching progress, nor is anyone allowed to be touching the line or hook when winching.

EX: If 3 gates are left = 180 seconds (3 minutes) + the driver stopped time at 120 seconds (2 minutes) they would have a total time of 300 seconds for that course.

- If the course was completed, then no penalty will be issued for non completed gates and the final score will be the time on course (unless a gate or boundary was hit).

Out of bounds markers and Gates:
-Out of bounds markers (such as gates and rope line) will be used to show a course outline, in the event that one of these is hit a 30 second penalty will be given, this applies to the Frame Twister, Tank Trap and Rock Crawl only. If a rope line is tangled on a vehicle time can be stopped to untangle the line, the judge will therefore allow the vehicle to be picked up to untangle. The vehicle will then be replaced in a similar location on course by the judge. In the case of a gate a vehicle will have to be driven out of the obstacle and back to the course, time will not stop for any other reason then a tangled line. A gate may be straddled for progress of the course, but a 30 second penalty will be assessed.

General scoring and progress for Hill Climb, Mud Pit and Tractor Pull:
-When marking progress on course, 1 inch is equal to 2 seconds.
-When scored on the mud pit, hill climb and tractor pull distance will be measured from the end of the prescribed area and from the back of the farthest back tire from the end of the course.
- If a boundary marker is hit on the Mud Pit, Hill climb or Tractor Pull The vehicle will be stopped as will time.
-The time on course will added to the distance not traveled (measured by inches), the distance will be measured from the farthest back tire on the course to the finish line.
- If the course is completed time on course will be your score.
-winching is not allowed.
- Reversing is not allowed

EX: If the driver stops time after 5 seconds and there was 72 (144 seconds) inches left of the course their total would be 149 seconds for that course.

Re: Floidra scale / g6 / ttc rules thread

Just to make it clear you can touch your rig for winch hook up but can not move it in any way unless its on it's own power or the winch is doing the work it will be a count as a touch if you move it..

Class 1 and Class 2 rig can run in this event but big tires go a looong way...

you will definitely need to be waterproof.

a pull point will be need for the rear for the sled pull...

Re: Floidra scale / g6 / ttc rules thread

RC Truck Warz

So, you have a scale truck. Maybe it’s a stock Axial SCX10 Honcho, or maybe it’s custom built. Ready for some real fun?

RC Truck Warz is the ultimate off-road test of truck and driver. RC Truck Warz events consist of three Segments of competition: Tough Truck, Speed and then Skills. Each Segment consists of a variety of different possible Stages.

A RC Truck Warz event can be a quick-but-fun affair with one Stage from each Segment being run, or it can be a two-day championship-level event with four Stages from each Segment being run for a total of 12 Stages.

RC Truck Warz is designed for drivers of all skill and experience levels, and trucks from ready-to-run to one-off custom builds can compete. Best of all, anyone can win.

Below are the rules and guideline for a scale competition that any club or hobby shop can host.

CLASSES

1.9 Street:
> Up to 1.9-inch rims
> Maximum 5.75-inch tire diameter
> Off-the-shelf tires only
> No dig transmissions
> 2-wheel steering only
> Single-speed transmission
> Shaft-driven drivetrain required
> Scale body or scale tuber (must resemble 1:1)
> 13-inch max wheelbase
> Single speed control and motor
> Chassis mounted battery
> No twin vertical plate chassis (i.e. comp-style)
> 2-cell LiPo and 7-cell NiMH battery limit
> Trucks not meeting all rules will be placed in the 2.2 Modified class

2.2 Modified:
> Up to 2.2-inch rims
> Custom tires allowed
> Dig transmissions allowed
> 4-wheel steering allowed
> Multiple-speed transmissions allowed
> Scale body or scale tuber (must resemble 1.1)
> No maximum wheelbase
> Chassis mounted battery
> No battery, speed control or motor limit

SEGMENTS
Each RC Truck Warz event must have an equal number of Stages from each Segment of competition. There can be as few as three total Stages or as many as 12 Stages.

Tough Truck Segment Portion:
> Obstacle course: Longer course with a variety of climbs and obstacles designed to test the power, maneuverability and general off-road capability of the truck as well as the participant’s driving skills. Check point markers placed after obvious obstacles
> Frame Twister: Short, aggressive course of consecutive obstacles of rocks, logs and mud
> Rock Crawl: Mini Rubicon style rock crawling challenge
> Mud Bog: Straight-line mud bog that gets progressively deeper

Speed Segment Portion:
> Drag Race: Straight-line time trial on pavement, sand or dirt
> Long jump: (“clean” landing required, distance measured at first landing point
> Slalom: Timed run through a series of cones
> Sled pull: Dead weight sled pull. Scored by distance or time if full pull is achieved. Pulling sled can be used if available, but is not required

Skills Segment Portion*:
> Tire Change: Spare tire swap or front-to-rear or side-to-side swap
> Teeter Totter: Balance truck on teeter totter device
> Vehicle Recovery: Flip rolled over another vehicle using winch or strap
> Reverse Run: Truck must navigate a simple U-shaped run entirely in reverse
*all timed events

SCORING:
The winner of each stage is given a score of 100, and second for each stage is awarded 99 points and so forth. The highest total score wins. Ties for the overall win will decided by a tug-of-war. Tug-of-wars work best on pavement and if no clear winner is decided after one minute. The truck that has pulled the other the furthest is the winner.

GENERAL RULES:
> Vehicles must run all events in the same configuration! No tire or other component swaps or additions other than for repairs!
> Winch recommended
> Unlimited motor turns or Kv
> On non-timed events such as long jump, first place with the longest jump will receive a score on 100, second place will receive a score of 99, third place will receive a score 98 and so on

OBSTACLE COURSE RULES*:
> Hitting any boundary or checkpoint marker is a one minute (+1) time penalty
> Winching can only be done to fixed points or by using Pull Pal type devices. The driver cannot be a winch point
> HoG (Hand of God) Recovery Penalty – If a flipped vehicle cannot be righted under its own power or via its winch, the judge (or allow the driver) can right the vehicle back on all fours without moving it forward (this cannot be used to obtain forward progress). This is a three minute (+3) time penalty
> HoG Advancement Penalty – If a stuck vehicle cannot be moved under its own power or via its winch, the judge can relocate it so that they front tires are at the next checkpoint. This is a five minute (+5) time penalty
> Max time for each event will be predetermined by Event Director
*Rules also apply to Frame Twister and slalom events (no winching on slalom).

GLOSSARY
Event: A competition
Event Director: Lead event organizer and director.
Segment: One of three parts of a Challenge. The three Segments are Tough Truck, Speed and Skills. There are a variety of Stages within each Segment
Stage: A specific challenge within a Segment

Nope. The RECON G6 still has only 4 rules,

- No Hand of God
- Drive THRU all trail markers. (progression & reverse around and obstacle is not allowed)
- Driving Challenges that are mandatory, may not be marked with trailmarkers, but still must be driven.
- Have FUN.
