the problem with that is that there are guys that only drive an hour 1/2 to ocala that will be making a 2 to 3 hour ride to Orlando and you loss more then you gain and also you have no were to run that has permission to be on the property...

Hey guys,

Kinda off topic but you all are the only people I've met so far in the crawling world. I have a quick question. I've been looking for crawlers for my son and I to get into crawling with. I don't have the funds to purchase 2 brand new crawlers as I would like. I did find a fella selling 2 MRC's with some extra's for 160... The idea being to turn them into scalers. I know they are not scx10's but would they be atleast competative enough to get us in the game?

Thanks for your help in advance..

Cory

Honestly, an MRC won't be competitive on the type of trail and obstacles we run. The rig is just to small in my opinion (of course I could be wrong). Just seems that for the type of obstacles we are challenged with at NewRed and even just trail running the MRC just doesn't do well. That's not to say it can't be done or you won't do well, but seeing what has been run and what does well is something like an SCX10 or Wraith type rig.

I understand you are trying to purchase rigs for you and your son but I think the 160 would be wasted on the rigs after you find them to small.

Being that you are local PM me with some ideas of what you are trying to run. Maybe there is something we can figure out. I have a few extra items that could be very useful for builds.

AILD,

Thanks for the advice. I think my impatience was getting the better of me.....sigh... It just seems this year all the SC racing falls on my shift days so I have not been able to attend. SC trucks are not much fun bashing unless there are a group of them. Basicly giving me the RC DT's....

What I want is a truck that I can abuse around the house but also be mildly competitive at TTC's. I should probly just wait till I can do it right..... I hate waiting......

Sweet! Thanks for your effort in getting us the scores. Some of us know it was out of your control. I think Tom should give everyone a free accessory for there vehicle for having to wait so long for the results.

I would hold off and go for the scx10 or a wraith.. The MRC is fun but to small and more for crawling or a really cool small scaler but not great for TTC events or runs...

Exactly my point. Very cool small scale rig but too small for comp.

I didn't realize that I took 3rd in the 1.9 class. Woohoo!!!

Thank you Yoda, i am shooting for an SCX. I will have to be patient a little while longer.

Also, can i enter the same truck but with different drivers? I'm not excited about sharing but it will be necessary for a while.

Ok the ribbions I gave out for 1.9 in july were on a guess I didn't truly know were any was standing and was going by what i say but did not add in over all point for scale or time's i just GUESSED and was wrong.

I will be giving out ribbions to those that make the next event and taking PIC's of rigs and owners for the web site.. if you can not make the event and are a winner let me know BY PM and I will send it to you by mail....

After the next event I am going to do a total of the last few events and see were ever one is standing and get an idea of were the pole's are sitting so i can put some presure under those that are close to the top three...
