Been trying to get in touch with them for some motor advice based on what I have read here on RCC.

I have sent one email through rcc, and another email through his own website- its been 4 days now and I have not had a response through either-


I am in dire need of a new motor. I want slow speed control over anything else. These are scalers not 1:10th buggies hauling ass jumping 3 feet in the air. I would really like to get one of the "cheaper" mass produced 10-15.00 rebuild-able motors for some water and creek running as well.

can anyone advise?

Buy a Titan 12T.. barely 20 bucks and will give you the same thing your looking for.

As for the hauling ass, im still looking for more wheel-speed ..

Holmes will reply...I have 3 (count em) great motors, all are 35t...you would be well advised to buy one...I hear Mr. Holmes has a cheap <$20 that performs like a Holmes should...what's up with that...can you find one cheaper ????bh

I cant tell you how many I have or how many I have had. (I have bought tons of used from other members)

Let's go with types.. 454 pullers, torquemaster pro's, crawlmasters, team pro crawl and team pro flo, an mini torquemasters..

For smoothest start up, crawlmasters or team pro crawl (5 slot).. double the turn to get the motor size.. 16t 5 slot = 32t 3 slot... these also give a real good wheel speed..

I always ran a 35t TM pro in my scaler on 3s. If a course looks like it needs more wheel speed, I go 4s. Lots of torque to break stuff in a bind, good wheel speed an smooth enough for most needs.

Then I picked up a pair of 16t crawl masters. So the scx got that.. buttery smooth start up an great wheel speed ( 87/16 gearing) not as much torque as the torque master but more then enough to get thru any obstacle.

Trail master pro motors are for dirtier trails and all around scaler needs.

HH also offers a closed can motor, which I know nothing bout. I have never had any issues with dirt, mud , or debris with any off the HH motors. I don't use it for a mud bogger or a submarine either.

the cheaper closed can motor I am not questioning. just the "nicer" crawlmaster- (I guess that is what I am leaning towards) how many turns should I be looking at? I want to have SLOOOOW speed control.
35t 45t, 15t? the fewer turns the punchier the motor, I just dont know where to start and they have still not answered any of my attempts to contact them?

I run a 35t...it has nice low end control with the trigger finger control you must have to crawl properly....and the real nice wheel speed when you "white knuckle" it

Pay attention to motor temp and gearing early on...you should be good to go
I gear mine right at 5:1 pinion/spur ratio with < 8lb > rigs

A 16t is a good crawl master wind for scalers. Not too fast, not too slow, tons of low end control.

All emails were answered from those days, it is possible your ISP rejected them. At any rate, 16t crawlmaster would be my recommendation.
