Any recommendations on hotels in the area? My wife and I are going to Miami on Sat for Red Bull Flugtag, and will most likely drive back to Ocala Sat evening.

There are some decent ones about 20 minutes away right off of 75 at the SR200 exit (or CR200 not sure) and a bunch of good places to eat as well.

Just wanted to post up a little bit about how the 22nd is gonna play out. Most of you have already been to these events and know what to expect but this event will work a little differently as were are going to be running “every man for him/her self” which is also how next seasons series will be ran.

As we all know there will be water and mud at this event so being waterproof is a great plus. Really hoping the mud pit is as nasty as its ever been so we can have a little mud run as well, hint hint

As yoda@4x4 stated, gates will be open at 630ish but mostly everything won’t start flowing and happening till around 8am, This is when the truck check-in will start, which is where you will pay for the event and your scale points will be added up.

After we get everyone checked in we are going to do the Show-N-Shine, Ugliest Truck and Most Scale Truck. IN ORDER TO ENTER ANY OF THESE EVENTS YOUR RIG MUST BE DRIVABLE, Meaning the rig MUST BE ABLE TO BE TURNED ON AND DRIVEN. These will each be judged hopefully by Tom (owner of NewReds) but may be a completely random person who is there that day. That way there is no “he/she is friends with them so that’s why he/she won”. Awards and prizes will be awarded for these classes..

Directly following that we are going to do the awards/prizes for the previous season series.

Depending on time (I have yet to dicuss this with Yoda@4x4) but I would like to have a sled pull contest, kind of how we did the hill climb contest at the beginning of the series.. $2-$3 bucks to enter, winner is fastest full pull or longest pull which ever it is. Winner takes money.. 1 pull, no yanking the sled, forward progess stops that is your pull.

Then the fun really starts the 1.9 class trucks will run the course, which is going to be 50 gates long stretching the span of NewReds (we all know how it is) and is going to be set-up by Rockrat426 so bring your “A” game.

After the 1.9 class trucks have ran the course will be switched up a little bit and the 2.2 class trucks will run a 50 gate course, also being set-up by Rockrat426, so you all will need to bring your “A” game as well.

For both classes there is going to be a “Driver Skill” Challenge area, both being marked by separate color flags for each of the classes, you can choose to forgo this area and keep running the course but if you chose to run it there will be bonus time off at the end of the event. No i/we will not tell you how much time off it is. Will go into more detail the day of the event.

After the events are ran, its FOOD AND PLAY TIME! Eat, have fun, pull the sled some more, hit the mud pit, drag race, circle track and just HAVE A GOOD TIME.

Really hoping that this event will break the records for the amount of people that show up.
