Default Have track need help to run a real comp

We have been working on our track for 2 yrs now. We have comps No classes just run what you got. Sometimes we have as many 14 drivers show. And sometimes 3. We have Fun.
But would really like to hold a Formal comp. Only one of our members had attended one real comp. Ttc of Florida last Dec. He located a couple sponsors
And new ideas.
We haven't required winches or scale items.
My question is how should we start out? Should I advertise here? And plan a few months in advanced to get the word out.
Would really like someone to help us organise our first real comp. Thanks for reading and any points would really be appreciated.

thats definatley a step in the right direction wish i was back in the area i would be more than happy to give ya all the info ya need but colorado is a bit of a ways away lol. but as a start i would say keep it simple the soco rc crawlers has a good plan when it comes to comps throw a bbq have prizes for craziest rig, cleanest, most used, anything yuo can think of really. classes id say at the least go for 1.9 and 2.2 as a start unless you guys have people running other size tires feel free to pm me when ever but hope this info helps!

Subscribed....Same here, we have a course setup in Tennessee and we are wanting to start having comps this fall. Maybe a short 4 month series to start out. I have started reading the rules here: SORRCA.com

I have started making a score sheet based on point items that I think we want to have. We are not too concerned with Scale Points and Crawler types yet. Here are the point items that we think we want to start with.

Progress
Gate Markers
Roll Over
Vehicle Touch
DNF
Time
Bonus Obstacle Time

Keeping it simple to start out is what I was thinking also. Being this is all new to us we don't want to jump in with both feet just yet.

Here is what we have as a course: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQELc21RUR8

Thanks for opening this topic up.

Thank you arcane. We had to get a liability policy thru roar racing for the county Here to use their property.
Sorrca rules I will look at. Future plans are a full rc complex for all aspects of rc.
Love the video jeepone.
