|  Lakeland Scale Crawlers..............
Hey everyone. .. This is a place for Lakeland and surrounding areas (Plant City, Winter Haven, Haines City, Bartow, ect....) to hang out and plan get togethers. We have a local stomping ground affectionately known as " The Pit ". It has trails for all classes of scale rigs. We are always improving the area as well. It is located across from 5920 Strickland Ave. Lakeland, FL This is a family oriented group and encourage a family atmosphere. We love meeting new people and new hobbyists. Our local group loves running at night and during the day. You can find more daily chatter on our Facebook group. How about we have our first GTG(get together) on Sunday November 9th...... I'm thinking afternoon but everyone post up what time would be best for you..... Also I was thinking around Lakeland for the location. Maybe Common Ground Park?? Or some place else?? Post up....lets figure it out Cory |

Hello! I'm down! My wraith needs some work but I might be able to get her slapped back together before then. Common ground has a pretty cool rock section. Carter road park (Loyce E. Harpe park) is great and Strickland pit park on Strickland road are great locations too. Afternoon would be better for me. |

Alright how about 1200 until 4 or whenever ....... I love Loyce Harpe but with the weather so nice the mountain bikers will be out in force...  I haven't checked their schedule either yet. They like to do races every once in a while out there too....It's apeshizz on race days out there...What is the Strikland place you mentioned? Matt... |

Alright folks...... Common Ground Park 12:00 until when ever 1000 East Edgewood Dr. Lakeland, FL 33803 Family friendly park with large playground and other areas. Here is the map for the Lakeland G2G. We will be meeting in the green circle area by 2nd finger. When you enter the park just stay right and pass the dog park. The road turns clay and will take you to the back were we will be. There are playgrounds and bathrooms at this park along with a dog park and multiple ball fields, and is a great place to ride bikes on and off road. .......so bring your family.  |

Lakeland folks...... I am looking at Sunday, February 8th for the next G2G. Start time to be around 9 or 10. Location is looking like Edward Medard Park. It is a little SW of Lakeland but looks to be awesome.    |

Can't go to Medard my friend. There is a sign at the ranger post where they collect money. My crew has been there a few times last summer, but recently got kicked out and was told that we would have to get with the county to try and secure a small piece of land to use. Our club leader was in talks with them for three months. Things were not moving forward, so we gave up. It is a kick ass place to run at though. Of course all r/c vehicles are not welcome due to one bitch complaining about someone who was tearing ass through the big open grassy area with a 1/5 baja or something. So like everything else in this state, one person bitching can f__k it up for everyone!!

You can simply call them up too. They'll tell you...no r/c's! We even tried laying on the "environmentally safe and quiet" bullshit, but they didn't care. We would have been fine if it weren't for the assholes playing frisbee golf up in the hills. Among the squirrels and birds are big RATS in that park!! The kind who can't keep their friggin mouths shut and mind their own business.

Lakeland Folks...... The location for this Sundays Feb. 8th G2G has been changed. Unfortunately I have not been unable to go and find out if Medard park is RC friendly. Soooo for this month I have changed the location. The new location is going to be... Matt Nobles Field It is ACROSS FROM 5920 Strickland Ave, Lakeland Meet up around 0900 It has a decent area for G2G. I will be setting gates for fun. There is plenty of space and a ball field. There are no playgrounds at this site, sorry. The area is very shaded. There is nearby food and convenience stores. Check it out on google earth. Strickland is off 540a near Highlands City. That place looks cool. I'll be in Viera this weekend so I can't make it, but definitely the next one. And forget Medard...they don't want r/c's of any kind there at all.
