| Ocala Area Crawlers
I am posting this based off of the CFLCC thread~ I know there are a fair number of guys that go to the newred hobbies stuff, I am NOT interested in competing- I have a 1:10 bronco build that is a year in the making- to the best of my ability it is the most scale bronco in existence, and just like my 1:1 that I am modeling iot after it is NOT for wheeling (some may disapprove ) But I digress- I work in Gainesville, and there are a TON of cool spots to go drive our mini scale trucks at. however just south of Ocala there is a KILLER spot that i have not heard mentioned. I have been Mountain Biking on the Greenway property for almost 20 years and the limerock pits there are PERFECT for putting our scale trucks to the test. it is located off of us441 between Ocala and Belleview just before the road splits (there is a sheriff sub-station there) the Vortex pit is the easiest place to get to unless you want to walk quite a ways. I have seen some RC trucks out there, but n o crawlers- just wanted to throw this out there- there is a CLOSE very cool place to play that is overlooked. I know several trails I will walk when I get my trail rig going- Discuss: L.R. |

Nice Idea but last time I was there with my scaler I was told that I can not be on there trail for the safety of the riders and that I need to leave, reason for this is that there are place's for every one and this place was build for mount biking not RC and that is a big reason why we do what we do a NEWRED Hobbies is the lac off area's we can run as a group and not get kick out.... the bike trail's would be awesome but for the safety of the riders and us as scaler they don't want us out there also on that note there are a ton of awesome place's in Ocala that are over looked by some but most of us have been doing this for 10years or more and have been to all these place's and have been asked to leave after time and as are group got bigger... We have tried to run in the forest and local parks and many other place's and It work's if you have a very small group but when you have 15 or 20 people show up it does not work and we draw attention and end up getting kicked out that's why we as a GROUP FSTR start holding events at newreds based off of G6/TTC/Scale challenges and other rc events so you can come and run and have fun with friends family and others and meet new people with in the scale rc community.

Yep there's nothing like driving an hour to go play with an rc truck just to find out you can't be there and are asked to leave.... On a side note the place does look awesome and would be fun if people were allowed to go without any problems |

I seen something on the barbarian scaleplex fb group from April this year saying there is now a tiny truck trail at the vortex trail. I don't have fb so I'm not able to get anymore information, but I'm right down the road from there. I'm new to the hobby & ready to run with some locals. Post any info you get on this. Have a great day!

I know this is a old thread but just got a 1/10 crawler and was told they made a RC crawler track out at Vortex. I went to check it out and it’s really nice. If anyone want to meet up and try it out let me know. Park at vortex and walk over the foot bridge. Head all the way to the back and it’s on the left behind the Porto o potty.

Anyone want to go to scale mountain rc park tomorrow? It’s pretty fun still, they just need a lot more rocks.
