Dorris Leeper preserve in northern New Smyrna had some fun trails; there are two entrances, the one down the long dirt road is the one i prefer.
This was filmed along a creek just west of the parking lot there(Under the bridge with a thick metal gate). Decent area to find some fun hill sections to just scale crawl.
After decent rain spells, this creek does NOT seem to fill up much deeper than seen here, makes for a good year round spot.
Ive never been, but you may wanna check that park down 421 west of 95, Cracker Creek Canoeing; could have some hidden gems there.

Aside from that, near the beaches, check run off drains, they're often surrounded by decent sized coquina rocks that sometimes have fun, short lines.

Any of you guys going to rrw for any of the comps coming up or just a fun run? Let me know ahead of time. I'm new to the hobby & interested in meeting some local guys that are into the hobby. I live a few miles from there. Haven't gotten to go there other than to look, but thinking about going on the 20th to check out the comp.

I'm just getting into crawling, I've played with RC off and on (mostly off) since Reagan was president. I'm really hoping to find some local spots and people to run at/with, but it seems like all the activity is nearer to Ocala.

There are some great parks andrecreation mountain bike trails in the area, so maybe if we can scrape a handful of people together there's hope for a scene. Otherwise I'm gonna burn a lot of gas between here and Ocala!

Anybody else out there? Sound off!

I made my way out to Scale Mountain today and had a blast, but I'd love to set up something local soon.

They're way the hell out in Belleview. It was about an hour and a half ride for me so probably a tick longer for you, but I had a great time and thought it was worth the trip. They do proper competition events every other weekend, and there are a ton of cool bridges and rock piles and mud pits.

There are plenty of parks and such in this area, but nothing with man-made obstacles that I know of. I'm thinking of trying the mountain bike trails in Ormond this week...unless you know of a spot in your area.
