| JeepinDoug's Aggro AFOR
Because of the Formula OffRoad thread I've been inspired by, I decided to pull the trigger on an Ofna Hyper10 Short Course truck as a base. What is Formula OffRoad? Basically it's an upside down slalom course. A steep hillside and strategically placed gates to progress. This kit is almost stock except for wheels and motor mount. Wheels are CAC 2.2 beadlocks mounted to ProLine Sand Paws. A friend of mine Brandon makes the EliteRC motor mount which is slick as hell. Makes swapping motors and setting gear lash a breeze. A Hobbico CS-170 servo with Robitronics horn. No Ext. BEC for the time being. CC Mamba Max Pro with a sensored Novak HV4.5 (5000kv). Backed up by a Hyperion 25c 4000mAh 4s. JKS Jeep CJ5 body. This thing is very powerful and hyper Aggro. Pull the trigger and it turns into a Tasmanian Devil. Here's the fun part. Tomorrow I'm hoping to get some one of a kind video or atleast I haven't seen any. I plan on driving this thing across a duck pond, walking on water. I have already done this across a running creek about a foot deep and 10 feet wide and it just hydros the whole way. The duck pond is quite a bit bigger. Wish me luck and I should have video regardless of the results. I'd love to get some locals to get together and set up some courses, we have plenty of quarries and dunes around here perfect for 1/10 scale. |

Teaser alert. This shows how deep the puddle was. The video is long and HD so it will take a while to load up. Last edited by JeepinDoug; 04-17-2010 at 01:35 PM. |

The MMPros are pretty tough. I'd like to water proof all of it and ditch the fan on the ESC, it's not needed anyway. Get it ready Scott, we'll go bash Sloat Beach. | |

Scratch that, just used air to blow it out. Plugged it in, armed just right and when I gave it throttle went up in flames. Need to send it in for a rebuild. Everything else is in perfect shape. I'll make some water tight box for the ESC now. |
