Have you tried a PL sand paw? I think they are the best, JMO.

My 2.8" DIY panthers are great. Same height with PL sand paws but narrower. In my opinion, if you want performance go for DIY panthers but if realism is what you seek PL 2.8" sand paws are way cooler

All you need to make your own 2.8" DIY panthers:

5x 2.2 panther paddle (2.5 sets)
4x 2.8" rear wheel (2 sets) - I prefer PL Desperado
1x tire glue
1x scissors

And the rest you can figure out yourself.


Traxxas 2.8" wheels.


Proline Desperado wheels.

picked up some cut boggers, tested them ounce in soft dirt and they do suprisngly well. look forward to testing them in sand and mud




id still like to give badlands a try and maybe those dirt paws

has anyone out there ran the losi 420 series paddles on their 1/8 scale rigs? i am not totally sold on them because the actual
paddles appear to be pretty short. im hoping someone here may have good feedback for me!!

don't rule out the Panther Cobras. And ignore the fact that one is backwards in this pic

With my crawler innovation closed cell foams these things are nice!

For sand it is hard to beat the RC4WD Sand Storm 5T Paddle Tires because of the size and look. I don't have them yet But I will.

They work for small HP but not for 8HP My brushless even more with 12HP

ive just ordered some g-made 2.2...not my 1st tire choice but looking at them I thing they should work ok on dirt compared to sand
