BWD FOFF build 1 of 2...AX-10 based

Well this is a project I've actually been working on for the last couple of years...but I finally decided several weeks ago that it was time to bring it to completion.

Current specs:
12.5" WB (build 2, coming next, is set to 13.5" WB)
Axial Axles/Transmission
Modified Falsenfest Knuckles
MIP CVD's
HD R&P's and lockers
VXL setup
3S 3250 Lipo
Internally limited Losi Crawler Shocks (to 3.5")
Electric Rustler/Stampede front offset wheels (all the way around)
Proline Gladiators for trail running
Panther Paddles for loose dirt/wood chips/sand/and hill climbing
BWD FOFF Proto Chassis set at 12.5" WB...which is tunable from 12.5"-14.5" wheel-base, in half inch increments
BWD Extreme Duty FOFF Motor Plate

Here's a quick trail vid...I'm going back out to hit some wood chips, sand, and hills later for more vids

BTW, the first vid was just taken while I was doing some high speed handling and durability testing. I'll have some FOFF appropriate vids wrapped up soon.

What and give any advantage he has as a manufacturer away. Be patient!

No worries guys...the material for the skids finally arrived this afternoon! This chassis is a very unique design from the ground up, and I just dont want to post pics until I have the correct parts wrapped up. While the prototypes have worked awesome, the final version is getting dressed up a little bit and is being made from better materials than my prototypes. All of the bashing I've done has only managed to spin wheel hexes and strip 48 pitch spurs in terms of damage.

Pics will be posted ASAP. "thumbsup"

I want to run an built axial trans with my novak hv 6.5t brushless system that was on my 1/8 buggy with 32 pitch gears on 4s. am i going to be able to offset the trans to ballance out the weight of the motor? i am going for balls to the walls, lol.

I doubt it. The skid would have to be wide to do that. Your best bet is to just have thespur forward with the motor on the right side to fight the TT, although I'm pretty sure the skid will be drilled to orient the motor and trans that way.

jwalker 04-06-2011 02:59 PM

if you watch the video closely you can see the skid, it is pretty wide. but it wouldnt matter, the modifying is what makes this hobby fun.
