Motor's a 3300kv Reedy, battery is 3s 65c 2250(?) mah Thunder Power or 3s 25c 1300mah Turnigy, gearing is 14/56 32p. Has more punch w/ the Thunder Power but the Turnigy's lighter so they come out fairly close performance wise.

Maybe because the Turnigy (?) will only give you max 33 amps and the Thunder Power will give you max 143 amps.

I know we've been over this a bit but maybe you can shed some light. I'm really unconcerned with the Turnigy's performance, it came with a set of axles I bought. The Thunder Power is a different matter though.

I pulled this from another thread:

If you change the from 5000 to 2500 with the same c rating.

(2500 * 25) * 1000 = 62.5 mda

If you are pulling more 62 amps the performance will be down and a fire just may take place right before you eyes. LOL Just be careful.

http://www.activepowersports.com/pro...d-AST101D.html

Amp draw should be able to be measured with a multimeter as well, correct? I need to do some more research on this as well.
My multimeter is only good to 200ma max, so I think that's out.

I'd like to get a better understanding of this. I've searched till my brain hurts.

I bought this battery and motor for my next build but I still don't know how to even guesstimate the probable amp draw of the motor. Any help would be appreciated.

I looked and looked. CC pisses me off because they don't list the performance (max amps) of there motors. I would call CC and ask. I have done this for other CC motors. There web site was made for kids ??? They never tell you the info that you need.

Example: They at one time listed there mamba max as being able to deal with 210 amps. I called them and asked. 10 secs @ 140 amps

Call CC and get max amps@ ??? volts for that motor. I can help you from there.

Jeremy that Thunder Power batt is an ass kicker. You wont need more. I have been dealing with the lack of info on electronics in the r/c world for way to long. I am in the process in building a dyno that measures pwr both electricl and mechanicaly. I have seen a lot of electrical dynos but never with a mechanical way to confirm. (physics don't lie) I will let you know when it is up and going. This is a long term project 1 year so far. With life and MS I am slow. I will get it doin.

Thanks very much for your input Evan. Good to know the batt. will work, I'll probably grab another one. Dyno sounds awesome. You have a thread going on it at all? Best of luck with your health.
