I followed bender in some aspects. The SCX10 is a great platform for a Foff. Especially if you are leaning towards a scaler appearence type build.

Very kind words. I really appreciate it. After the research I have done. Seems it is the ideal build for what I am looking to get out of it. Balls to the wall fun .

Search around in this section I think at least half the builds are based on your current set up. This is is the simplest format, Its basic bolt on parts, shorter shocks, some paddles, and a fast motor/speed control nothing to it. Or if you have the ability and desire build your own chassis and components, There's no right or wrong.

Technically all you'd have to do is mount up a set of sand paddles and a fast motor and bam, FOFF. If you want it to perform better though there's a lot more you can do from that point.

Paddles all around is your best bet if you're climbing a loose surface ie. sand. Panthers are my favorite.

scx10, traxxas vxl3s esc & motor scale jeep body and paddles Or build your own tube chassis and skin it with a jeep style body, and paddle it with a bad ass motor and shorter shocks

You'll need to beef up the drive train to handle the brushless motor power. A slipper clutch will help... although I haven't installed mine yet

What exactly is the difference between a crawler and FOFF?
Can any crawler be converted? If so, what are the ideal parts to be swapped?

Thanks

I am running the GTR 1/10 E-Revo ones. Perfect size for this set up. Pssst, don't forget to get softer springs. Look to the Jato.

Formula Offroad : paddles, lots of power. As you drive you will find the improvements you want. There is more than one way to build it. Let it evolve (?)
