Slash 4x4 Foff Style Build, need tips i dont know awhole ton about formula rigs, but i couldnt sacrifice my scx10 axles to build one. but i had a slash sitting around and thought i would give it a shot, the first thing i did was put a spool in the rear end, and geared down to a 13 tooth pinon, then i went to my lhs and found some axial 2.2 rims, got the set for 14 bucks, because the screws where missing. and i ordered some proline sand paws. i dont like around any sand, but there are a ton of gravel pits close, and they have pretty fine gravel. i just got the truck put together tonight, so hopefully tommrow i wil a test run, i really want to cross water with this setup, i was told a stock slash with a 3s lipo and good tires is capable of it, but i guess ill have to wait for spring im hoping i dont need to lock the front end, the truck drive very good still with the locked rear, and heavy oil in the front diff. so i can still put my shortcourse tires on for fun. anyone have any sugestions on how i could improve my rig? , im sure theres always something more that needs to be done. heres some pics http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/w...IMG_0153-1.jpg http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/w...IMG_0146-2.jpg |
Re: Slash 4x4 Foff Style Build, need tips Where are the pic's and video."thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup" |
Re: Slash 4x4 Foff Style Build, need tips I say try it out, youll most likely break some axles though. And work on covering up the hole where the driveshaft goes through the chassis. |
Re: Slash 4x4 Foff Style Build, need tips Rig looks good, "thumbsup" Let us know how the test run goes. Suggestion---try a more aerodynamic body."thumbsup" Good luck |
Re: Slash 4x4 Foff Style Build, need tips haha, i feel in love with my dingo body, i just had to use it on something else, i went to the hill today, didnt even get a video, the clutch slipped ( over oiled the bearings ) and after i got that fixed i lost an axle, i was running half worn stampede axles though, i just ordered up a set of slash cv's so that should put me back in business, i just want one of the ponds to thaw so i can try a water run, after i put some foam in it of course! |
Re: Slash 4x4 Foff Style Build, need tips That looks pretty cool Do you have any pics with the body off? |
