Whats your target wheel base? It's going to be a feather weight.

13.5" wheel base, once i get this one built i'm going to try to make a carbon fiber chassis out of 1/16" and use 1/4" cross braces, this was just my first delrin chassis using the table router and i was anxious to use it so i just cut out a template and went with it, i'm still in the learning process so once i get it down i'm sure i'll build a few more with a little more thought going in to them

btw yours looks awsome, what did you use to cut out the chassis

Looks like ou are off to a good start. you may want to start accounting for a cutout to clearance the spur gear. I'd hate foryou to cut it out of CF only to find that it needs more bracing once a cut out for the spur is made.

I would also have made the lowers triangulate more as the torque twist becomes a big issue with big hp. Perhaps something similar to this EEM double triangulation skid?

Beautiful work with the band saw and router though"thumbsup"

yeah i've been there before, i built a compact tube chassis once and it was very tight had to go with a little smaller spur to get it to work, this one is the same width as an ax and i built the skid and drilled the transmission holes to the same specs as a stock skid

i like that eem skid, just ordered one to use for my cf one once i start on it "thumbsup"

Actually after re-reading, I realize that you made your ski AX width, which will allow the tvp's to clear a pretty big spur. I guess I'm just used to seeing all the narrow comp style chassis.

Re: my foff custom chassis build

well after deep thought i ordered a scx frame, this chassis will work but battery and esc will have to be mounted to high so it probly wouldn't be as stable as the scx

i might get back on it later and just cut the bottom of it flush and have the skid screws on the same plane as the top links, then go back with the scx skid to drop the bottom links down and make some shock hoops kinda like hacksaw's

got some parts in today, put the springs on the shocks and they still felt a little stiff so i drilled out the piston to 1/16", refilled them with 40wt & they feel a lot better hope i get enough parts in by the time i leave to at least have it rolling
Attachment 188103
