Default Gmade R1

Hey everyone i ws thinking about doing a foff is a gmade r1 a good start?

I dont think the R1 would make a good Foff vehichle. The portal axles increase ground clearance and raise the center of gravity. Formula offroad trucks are by design lower than crawlers. The R1 chassis could be used to build a foff but the links would need to be longer, and I would limit the travel of the shocks. I'm not familiar with their transmissions, but I would think they would need modifacation to handle any kind of brushless power.

I figured I was just wondering im new to this. I have custom short course truck and a comp crawler i figured. So I contacted DMG and they might build me a custom chassis off of the alluminity pro chassis and im using hardend steel transmission and scx axles aluminum links what do you guys think

Hi, I'm building a foff truck (very slowly) but am just using the 2 main chassis sides off an R1 and wraith axles. My previous build had ax10 axles with wideners. The chassis was too narrow to get a decent size battery in though.

Give it a try. If you can make stuff such as links and other parts you might need it would be good to see.
