RULES of RC Formula Offroad |
Re: RULES of RC Formula Offroad Thank you for any and all info you can porvide us."thumbsup" |
Re: RULES of RC Formula Offroad Of course, I find this AFTER I clutter up your thread. Any more info here? Timing, scoring, etc. are gray areas for me. Have a few local friends "interested," but needing a little more info on the layout of an event. No serious planning yet. Wandering who is going to actually show up. |

Re: RULES of RC Formula Offroad This is great. |
Re: RULES of RC Formula Offroad FINALLY a class with few enough rules I can actually build something with what I've got. |
Re: RULES of RC Formula Offroad Pardon the pun but I can dig it.Checking out all the builds that i see i think were on to something so I'm in and I should have enough parts to rig up something.looking at all the Foff rides it almost remines me of rats rods, parts bin from every crawler kit available What would be better choice for a starting point SCX10 frame,Wraith, or AX10. "thumbsup" Could this be the next big thing. |
Re: RULES of RC Formula Offroad I've really taken a liking to the FOFF's since i've seen them. never saw them until Samu posted pics of them on facebook recently and i was blown away by what they can do. If i wasn't about to build my first pro rig, i'm sure i would be starting to build one of these...but i think in the mean time it wouldn't hurt to find a decent truggy frame to get the juices flowing for an eventual 1/8 build. These have been the only rigs that have bitten me like the pro/sports class crawlers..not quite as much as crawlers...but a close second for sure. I've never been one to bash, but these are different and would be interesting to see if FOFF could or would take off here in my country, we have plenty of beaches so would be great to have some summer season's of some FOFF action for sure. But regardless i would love to build a FOFF once the pro is all finished and tuned. Unlimited class looks like fun, so i have a lot of reading and learning to do.;-) |
Re: RULES of RC Formula Offroad What motors are used mostly for the Unlimited FOFF's? Is brushless the way to go, or can brushed motors be used also? |

Brushless is the only way to FOFF ;-) Modified class (1:10) we have 3000 - 6000kv brushless motors. I have castle 4600kv motor my cars and couple my friends have 5700kv. |
Re: RULES of RC Formula Offroad Thanks Hadesbear."thumbsup" Think i'll try a 2200kv, just installed an esc so will have the Foff up and running soon. |
Re: RULES of RC Formula Offroad so is there a class for the yeti xl sized buggies? http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2x7toeh3.jpg |

Re: RULES of RC Formula Offroad So is class by tire size? I have another build that uses the same carbon chassis but is the LST stock 14.2'' wheel base. It still uses the Summit transmission but also has the large tires I could cut some 2.2 tires to fit the Slash style wheels to get the same tire size though. But as a hole I think that the unlimited class is the way to go as it has all the cool stuff that is fun to run! |
Re: RULES of RC Formula Offroad got an old tmaxx chassis I converted to electric. what class would this fall in? I imagine I would have to flip the chassis so drivelines were on top and put my flux set up in it on 6s? thanks for the info "thumbsup" |
Re: RULES of RC Formula Offroad I believe you need solid axles to qualify no independent suspension...."thumbsup" Plus this is an old thread... |
Re: RULES of RC Formula Offroad looks like there is a couple independent suspension ones in the photos? |
Re: RULES of RC Formula Offroad what photos .... 4WS not allowed. DIG not allowed. MOA not allowed. Only one motor allowed. Maximum of two axles. last one sound like 2 axles......"thumbsup" i guess unlimited class is ok.......... Only in Finland.... |
