| Foff Build From Texas
Well I've been bitten by the Foff bug!! Been running and upgrading my Wraith since January. Not really board with it but it's very low geared for crawling and I want something fast too. After seeing all the nice rigs here it's time for me to build a big power, sand throwin' machine. This will be my first build from scratch as I bought my Wraith RTR. Heres the plan: MambaMax Pro Castle 1406 5700kv Homemade Chassis AR60 axles AX10 Trans 2.8 Proline Sand Paws/Desperado Wheels Not sure yet what body but I'm thinking a VW Bug So heres what I've got so far. Castle Mamba Max Pro, 1406 5700kv and 2.8 Desperado 2729-03 wheels Some lower links and various rod ends and some .125 aluminum sheet for some chassis plates. Some plans for the chassis. Sitting at a 14" wheelbase. Tried cutting out the side plates out with my Dremel to no avail and to late to go over to my dads shop to cut them out. Suggestions are always welcome |

Got some tires today! Got them mounted. Hopefully they'll hold up, it's the only tires I've ever glued. Gone for work all day and no time to cut the chassis plates. Maybe tomorrow. |

I run the same wheels and tires on the back of my Glamis Uno. They work fine on that. Get some great wheelies lol.

My main concern was my gluing job. Cleaned it all with alcohol first so I think they will be fine.

Starting to take shape. Found some axles on the classifieds. And got a bunch of stuff from McMaster Carr on the way. |

this looks great. Are those sand paws 2.2 or 2.8 ? How tall are they? |

They're 2.8 on the 2729-03 desperados. Proline says they're 5.22 but I haven't put a scale on them myself.

awesome thank you. I'm thinking about these for my Yeti XL, but I'll have to see if the wheels fit. Can't wait to see this build progress. |

Doesn't the xl have 3.8" wheels? 2.8's may be a little small.

Well made some progress. Shocks took me most of the evening to assemble. Had to replace the locker in the front axle. Got the trans mounted and driveshafts clear everything nicely. Started mocking up electronics to see where everything might fit. And just for reference the tire measurement. |
