They stay nicely with just the beadlocks. No problem there.

Thanks!

Another great comp behind!

Twelve rigs ready to start!

Let's see the power of that motor.

So far so good.

A little jump downhill and really tight line towards the next gate.

Dunno what happened here, but I truely missed the gate entirely.

Course three on the way!

Really steep downhill section.

Made it with one gate.

And extreme vertical section to the end!

Nobody made that.

Course number six.

Clean run so far.

And downhill again. No problem there what so ever.

Towards the end! The new motor doesn't seem to have quite the same power as the old one. But I think changing my pinion from 12T to 15T will make it good.

Here is a clip from timed course. Really fun one this time. Got to see the handling at full throttle!

First position with just 70 point marginal to the second. Good day for me overall!

Here are the results.

Next comp will be driven in the end of june. It's time to get some rest before the battle continues.

Long time without updating. To be honest, I haven't had any time to do a thing for this rig. Not that it needs anything though.

Regardless, it's ready for the fourth comp of Foff Cup 2015. Just tightened screws and bolts.

The weather forecast for tomorrow doesn't look too good, but let's hope for the best. Trying to get another victory and strenghten the lead in the championship.

Fourth comp of Foff Cup 2015 is now done.

Cloudy saturday morning opened couple of weeks ago. (Sorry for the late update!)

We didn't get quite as many participants as last time. But the comp was on with these as well!

Course one here.

Total disaster for me. Rolled over just after the first gate. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Found myself at the last position after first course...

Rest of the day, I got the strategy all or nothing.

Course two on the way.

Jumping downhill.

The course builders did their best to make difficult gates. This was really tricky since the cliff was really slippery.

Got stuck just under the finishing gate.

Last course here. I made this one.

You'de have to get really exact line to the next gate from here.

I managed to do that and here I was turning at the bottom of the hill.

On the way to the final gate! POWAAAAAAAA!!

Flight just as I planned!

Except for that one marker. I was happy about this performance!

And here we have the final course on video! Cool stuff!

After a horrible start to the competition I managed to get myself on the podium. I can be pleased with that.

These results meant, that I'm now second in the overall standings in Foff Cup 2015. Three points behind the leader. It's gonna be tight one!

Next comp will be just after two weeks in one of my favorite spots. Gotta do some tuning to the suspension and steering before that. Week after that comp it's time to drive the Finnish Nationals. I'll have to do some training...

Today it was time to get the suspension working better and do some training.

First I replaced a broken part from the rear axle.

Bought dirty cheap spare rig.

New part for it!

Actually I bough two spare rigs. This is Hobao Hyper ST, which is the same as my previous rig. It's yet to decide, what to do with this.

Part replaced!

The old part had just broken in half.

Adjusted the front and rear suspension a bit lower.

Off to the nearby sandpit to test it out.

The suspension is now better, but I'm not still satisfied with the steering. To be honest it's quite poor at the moment...

Didn't broke anything. I'll be changing the diff oils next if that does a difference.

Two weeks till the next comp. Plenty of time to tune it right.

Great pictures and enjoyed the footage, thanks again Samu.
Well done on the repair job. I think 15T pinion would be better also. What size is your spur gear?
I found 18T is really good, but I have large spur wheel.
Oh with your steering, if you turn one way then release steering wheel, does it take long time to resume normal position? I'm not sure if more voltage can be fed to servo from esc, mine has been sluggish also sometimes, but then after short while is good again. Maybe I need a bec I'm not sure, for crawler for sure, but I thought with FOFF I may not need?

very nice, thanks for all the good footage. you make it look so easy. haha

from the pictures it looks like you have some toe-out. is this just the angle of the pictures?
zero toe-in or a little toe-in would help the steering imo.

good luck on the rest of the season, give em hell

The problem here is not the servo or voltage. I use BEC with all of my rigs. The problem is the geometry of the steering parts.

Yes, you saw correctly. Now I have switched it to zero toe-in.

Time to do some minor changes before the comp tomorrow.

First I would like to put a little bit stiffer oil to the central diff.

Gears were in excellent shape.

But the other bearing didn't look so good. I replaced this one.

Will this be enough? Time will tell...

Almost all set. You have to drink something during the tech.

All set for the wet race tomorrow. Switched my little toe-out to a zero toe-in. It turns little bit better on solid ground, but time will tell what are the effects of these mods on the hill.

Gotta drive pretty well, since I'm three points behind the leader in the cup standings. Tomorrows competition will be the fifth of total six competitions. Let's hope for the best!

Another comp of Foff Cup 2015 is now done!

As the forecast promised the rain was there.

Luckily we had prepared for that.

Some crazy courses were waiting for the rigs!

Wanderer waterproofed!

Last gate of course one. Was really satisfied clearing that gate!

Few of the gates on course two.

Starting the course in question.

I'm really pleased how my modifications worked out. It was hard sand, but still. The steering on the hill improved rapidly.

It was also easier to control on the timed course.

Going for the final gate of course two.

Pretty darn nice!!

Didn't broke anything and that's cool! Really happy about my performances overall.

Here is the first course on video. Awesome, awesome feeling to make that vertical cliff!

First place! And now on first place again in the series. One more comp to go on October.

Here are the results. My arch enemy Saku had to retire the comp and that gave me another chance in the cup.

Tomorrow it's time to prepare the rig for the Finnish Nationals on saturday!

Time to fix this for the most important competition of the year.

Some damage to the C-Hub attachment...

I replaced it with a straight one.

Shaved a little bit the steering bits to get the max steering, what this rig has to offer.

Sorry for the bad pics. But also shaved from the c hub.

Other than these, it's ready for tomorrow. Steering improved a little bit after shaving the bits. Let's see how it turns tomorrow on the comp.

RC Formula Offroad Finnish Championships. Seven participants in each class. It's gonna be epic fight!

Hopefully everything goes as well as last weekend and I can drive without any incidents. As usual pics and video will follow.

Trust me, it is great fun!

Back from the Nationals, which was an epic competition all the way!

Best courses, that Finland has to offer for the Unlimited class. Just epic!

Lots of these vertical spots were included on the courses.

Camp was set and everyone was feeling good before the comp. Weather was great all day. Little bit chilly, but not a single drop of water.

Wanderer was ready for the opening course.

Seven drivers and rigs showed up to the line.

The best of the best!!

Course three on the way!

After first two courses there were close battle between me and Arttu. We were only separated by twenty points, which is practically hitting one marker.

Flying up to the cliff.

Down we go. Carefully....

That went well. Time to go up again!

On the edge of death.

Guys building the last course.

It's was gonna be one of a kind.

Let's go for it!

I had good sixty point lead before this course.

This was only the third gate of the course.

I chose the hard way to come down again.

The fourth gate. That's where I needed to be to take the victory!

Pretty astonishing fifth gate next.

Flipped it over after that gate...

Here are all of my performances of the competition! Pretty happy about how it turned out!

Still feeling great after getting the title!!

Not a big gap between me and Arttu. It surely was a tight comp!

Now it's time to take a two moth rest before the last two competitions of this pretty small formula offroad season. There will still be a fight for the Foff Cup victory.

It's been quite a while since I've driven this rig and now it's time to prepare for next weekends competition.

Fixed my rear shock and filled the shocks for this event. Otherwise it was basically ready to go.

Completely new compground on the last competition of Foff Cup this year. It's gonna be a close battle for the title!

Last comp of Foff Cup 2015 is done. And what a comp it was!

Completely new comp spot offered great hills for driving!

These pics are from the last course.

Had a good first half of the competition.

Only one thing bothered a little while. A little rock was jammed in my steering on course two. So with no steering I wasn't able to finish the course.

On the timed course it all went wrong. I left like a madman from the line and didn't drive wisely there. On the middle part of the course I rolled the rig over and that was it.

Dropped down from the first position to third. Which got me thinking, that the championship will get really tight because of this.

I tried my best for catching up, but wasn't able to squeeze the gap.

So the championship would be basically chosen by which is better on the last course. Me or my brother, who I was driving against.

I was the first one to tackle the course. Got one marker and as you can see, wasn't able to make it on the top.

Really difficult final gate for sure. My brother made it to the same spot, but hit two markers. Breathing freely again.

Here is the fifth course on video. I knew too well the situation and cursed for hitting the gates.

At the end I was able to keep my third position in the comp. Big respect for the top two! Amazing driving!

As you can see I was way off from the lead there.

Luckily though, with equal 122 points, but me having a better discounted competition I was able to take the championship title 2015!!

It was nerveracking, but well worth it. This is racing at it's best! Thanks to Saku for this challenge!

One more comp to go and then we can start planning for next season. We'll get back on course after two weeks.

Time to get Wanderer ready for Old Boys Competition VI, which is the season closer this year.

Just basic screw tightening is enough this time.

Rollgage got hit in the last comp. Have to make it stand out straight next year.

Otherwise it's ready for saturday. It's gonna be yet another tough competition. The comp ground is really extreme.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...B_Cps8/pubhtml
Here is live scoring for the comp. It starts at 09:00AM CET on saturday morning. Should be good fun all day!

Last competition of the season is now done as well.

We got some serious courses in this one!

Some of the finishes were a bit extreme.

This for example.

Blasting through course one!

No problems so far. I was bit afraid, that there might be some small stones locking my wheels on the course. Luckily this time it didn't happen.

First two courses went well and I was tied with Saku.

But on the third course I made a huge mistake and scored only 120 points.

On the fifth course I was able to get my driving under control again, and I was able to push for the victory.

That was as far as I could get!

Before this happened.

I was 190 points behind Saku before the final course, which turned out to be a real killer.

This time though it was Saku's time to make a huge mistake and I took full advantage of that winning the competition by 90 points!

Here is the fifth course on video. This was pretty good for me!

Results are here. As you can see, I was pretty far back before the fifth course. Quite ok comp for me.

Now it is time to put Wanderer to the shelf and start planning what to do with it for the next season. Hmmmm....

Time for this rig to start the season as well. First comp was held last weekend in Vääksy.

Nearly sunny weather welcomed us in the heights of Näkkimäki.

Nothing has been changed from last season and the rig is ready to start delivering again.

The comp ground was challenging and we made some really good courses in there.

What could be better way to start the day, than a pint.

Massive amount of rigs showed up in the line!

Starting the first course.

Made first course up with one gate. On this second course my driving was perfect, but a small stone got jammed between the arm and the wheel and that's why I had to reverse to get it off.

Drivers are gathering to begin the timed course.

I decided to went for it hard!

And that seemed to pay off.

Fastest time without mistakes.

I had to start the fifth course and my line through this final bit was incorrect. This failure meant, that I was tied with Arto before the last course.

Luckily nothing broke.

On the last course I was pretty nervous, cause Arto drove up and I knew that I had to do a perfect run to go pass.

From this video you'll find out how did it end. And you'll get to see the other performances too.

After a really tough and tight competition I was able to take the victory with 50 point margin.

Congratulations to Arto, Totte and Hannu, who gave me a really good competition!

Next comp will be held after a month and I predict sunny weather and even more rigs on the line. Can't wait!

It's been a long time without updates. Now though, we have driven the second round of Foff Cup 2016 in Lemi, Finland.

Completely new gravel pit to conquer! And lot's of new rigs to challenge.

Here you can see the whole lot.

Ready to attack the first course.

Going smoothly so far.

That was too much for Wanderer. And all of the rest too. Really technical approach might have done the trick, but sand was too loose to try it like that.

The finishing gate of course two. Yet again too steep to pass for me.

On the fifth course I finally got one performance to the finishing gates!

Rig was solid and my driving was consistant, but not too shiny.

This happened on the final course of the day. Really tricky courses made this competition insanely tight.

Here are my performances on video. You can see the difficulty of the vertical points right there.

After the battle, I was able to take yet another victory with Wanderer. The opponents are following really closely at the moment, so I have to keep my head up!

Here are the results. I also had couple of more rigs on the line to test something new. Maybe a future comp rig coming out of one of them.

Next comp will be driven next weekend, so I don't have too much time to prepare stuff. Hopefully my good driving continues in Laukaa.
