Not yet....but preparing mine for it. Rc Crawling season should start in September here and i should be taking part with the R1. Maybe its not the best crawler around, but with some easy mods i think it becomes quite competitive and level with other crawlers....and not referring to digs. Stuff placed as low as possible and weights help to make it stick to the ground. Stock tyres suck and also the rims. I put on some Losi weighed wheels and tyres. Also replaced most of the screws with stainless hex screws and prop shafts with junfac shafts. Axle width is a little wider than that of other crawlers and that's a little disadvantage when doing gates but then there's the plus of the portal axles which clear rocks better. I'll try a let you know how i'll do when comps start |

There was an R1 at Brians Hobbyland last time I went and he had it painted up like the General Lee. I thought it was a pretty slick deal. It had dig, and a gooood amount of wheel speed and it went just as good as any of the rest of them.

Thanks for the info. Yea my Creeper sits at 11" wide w/ Rovers, so gates aren't too bad anyways. My Creeper does pretty good against the Axial & Losis around here, since what most people run for local comps. Some of the bigger ones around here are about 3-4hr drive so hard for me to get time for doing those. When the Creeper first came out I remeber everyone bashing it and giving it a hard time, but I believe it's definately proved itsellf over the past year. I thinking the R1 could be a proven buggy as well with a few changes, especially shocks, since they need to be longer and a set of good tires. Hmmm, maybe I'll do a hybrid Creep-R1 chris |
