Thanks guys. It really woke up with some good tires. The rear steer really helps it get around on the rocks too.

It's 8.5lbs RTR, thats with a 2200mah 3S lipo.
It crawls alot better on the slow end now so I am going to put a 90T spur in it gain a little more low end control.

I am just glad you didn't yell at me. I think we exchanged 50 pm's and text nailing this look down.

He does good work.

I ordered up some 5x8x2.5 traxxas bushings to see if they will last longer than the small bearings that go in the portal cases. I had one bearing fail and caused a portal bearing to get knarled up. Nothing a dremel couldn't fix on the gear teeth.

Back in the day bushing with fast motors and a lot of power would spin with axle and melt the plastic housing. Have you tried ceramic bearings?

Bought some RCP TLT Knuckles. **RCP*Crawlers*Super-Max... $14
Bought some RCP TLT CVD's. Pieced them together from the RCP website ~$45
Aluminum 7 deg G-Made C's, the extra caster is nice.
Aluminum shock/link mounts.

Mega steering now. Havn't tested it yet. The RCP knuckles are just shorter than the G-Made C's but not by much. Used some shims to get closer. And i had to some some larger inner diameter bearings.

The RCP knuckles are shorter on one side (in the C) so we'll have to see how that works with the CVD shaft not completely true with the knuckle (ie the screw hole area height). See second picture, the lower shank is just shorter than the upper shank. Not binding right now, everything moves freely.

First picture is stock steering. So weak.............

Last picture is after modifications. Will steer further but need to play with the drag link/servo horn setup..It gets into the shocks before the CVD's limit
how hard was it to do this mod? I would like to do this on my Gmade R1.

Post #15 and Post #48 show the details. Buy the TLT parts from RCP and build them as normal and then cut them down, as pictured. Then slowly grind the shaft flat on one side to fit inside the portal gear. Go slow and don't take too much off.
I have links to the thread where Chino did this as well.

Although if you do the rear steer, just read that you have to buy front portal gears, as they are different than the rear gears.

They are pretty much all listed out in this thread. If not the pictures I took show which parts you'll need. RCPcrawlers carries all the parts needed.

Thanks, I probably shouldn't have let this one go but I say that about all my builds.
