But why is it that Shane's rig got the full throttle banzai attack shots while the YJ got nice slow finesse technical crawling shots? Hmm......
It's all in the production team's vision.
And the JK has some low end finesse, check out 0:57.

Random fact. I just re-measured my wheelbase. 14" width is at 10 1/4" with berg offsets and boggers.

...

After careful review, I believe you are correct. The Spielbergs and Camerons of the world can make anything look good, or bad.

Wow. Thanks for the comment. Just waiting on some funds to get some scale accessories added. Might put it over the top with some realistic detail add ons. Cooler, jack, tools, etc.

Here is the video again. So it will be on this page.

Thanks. Still been too busy to add the lights and details. Just been driving it.

The tires are showing some wear after only 4-5 packs.

Couple pictures by RockedUpRicky at Disney, with my brother's Honcho.

With 3S, 4WS and 14" WB, this rig will climb almost anything. It is alot of fun to drive.

JK in a Disney scale run.
Broke a transfer case input shaft. I drilled through it to use the traxxas pass through pin drive cups and that's where it broke.

Yea, its the rear steer servo interacting with the motor for some reason. It's actually the motor making the noise.

Fixed up the broken transfer case output with some 5mm stock from McMaster Carr. I had drilled through the output shaft to use a "pin through" setup. That's where it busted.
It's the one that runs the Kyosho dogbone to the Axial trans. I ground a set screw flat spot for the output end but didn't get a picture.

Default Panhard bar - 3 link setup

No more bump steer.
The R1 axles are an easy axle to setup for a panhard bar. Several places to mount.
Haven't tested it out on the rocks but almost no bump steer now on the bench. It was pretty bad, it limited steering and suspension travel before.
Just pulled one upper link from the 4-link, made 2 new bars (steering and panhard) and one hole in the servo mount.

I just got my drivelines on Hogans rig and I made the pins a hair smaller so I didn't have to drill it out.

Thanks guys. Been traveling a lot with work lately and haven't tested out the new steering. Will get to it this weekend.
I am still looking for some headlight lenses that aren't covered in fake mud.

Couple pictures at ride height. Just does work. Clearances are millimeters.

Might have to shorten the spacer on the drag link and ditch the blue link.

Simply sick JK

Curious about the portal gears the rear steer kit comes with, are they needed because the axles are different thicknesses front to back?

also you say you used a different sized bearing for the TLT knuckles and CVDs, which size did you use?

considering I am looking to do the TLT CVDs for my R-1 portals I figure the rear steer kit isnt worth it. I can run the old stock knuckles, axle stub, & bearing out back get a 7 degree hub up front and use the stocker out back. all I would need is a set of front portal gears

Yes...

The portal gears front/rear are different sizes and have different inner shaft diameters. So, you have to buy front portal gear sets/portal shafts for a rear steer setup.

I just bought bearings that fit the TLT knuckles I bought. They are 6x11x4mm.
RCP*Crawlers has all the TLT parts to do this setup.

Picture with the soon to be retired XJ.

How are the cvd's holding up ?

I'm getting the itch to get back to working on the Fj after I finish the xr. I want to add rear steer to it. You just used the short inners ?

We're all proud of our own rigs BUT that is Awesome, inspiring job you've done, that is so scale, that if you put model person in it would ruin it.

Cracking!
