Default Transmission/battery tray mounting

Hi Everyone. Newbie crawler here. I just put together my R1. I have an axial 27T motor mounted up to the trans, but I ended up widening the chassis out by putting washers in all the points that hold the halves together to make it fit. It looks like I can move the tranny and motor to the rear mounts by flipping the battery tray 180 from how the destructions show. Has anyone done this? What should I do to to get the weight back up front? Also I see (from hours of looking at the pictures posted) that one person has mounted the motor and trans in backwards, is that a good solution or does it move the cg to far to the rear for effective crawling?

Hi and Welcome to RC crawler

I haven't moved the tranny or flipped the battery tray but if you want to put weight up front. You could put weights in the front wheels. Junfac sell low cog battery tray GM51107S for the front axle. You could personal message the owner of the 180 switched tranny, but personally i dont think it would make to much difference, if any. Although i might be wrong....... Enjoy your R-1

Hey thanks for the ideas.

I decided to switch up the batt tray and move the trans back. Now I seem to have an issue with the drive line hitting the upper link at full flex. I don't think it will be a problem when get my steel drive lines though!
