Chaotic Ultra4 gmade hybrid I found this rig in the for sale section and knew that I had to have it. This is basically a continuation of tedo's previous build Found here... http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/g-mad...koh-build.html With some modifications of my own to make her fit into our ultra4 rules and also to prepare her for the beating it will receive. Here is what I started with... http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...DF90B508EE.jpg First thing I did was rebuild the spare tire carrier to strengthen and keep it straight when abused by other rigs. http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...DC4B4DFE93.jpg I then started building a new nose for it. http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...DC59817ADB.jpg The reason for these mods Is to lengthen the overall chassis length to allow for a longer wheelbase. All done and painted http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...DC822E236F.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...DC6C5C3D9F.jpg |

Thanks man. I'm really looking forward to driving this rig. I have always really loved the look of this chassis but hated the rest of the kit. Seeing a couple axial hybrids really made me start looking for one a few months ago. This one was perfectly timed, because I was about to pickup a new dingo kit to play with. "thumbsup" Quote:
This next week is not a good time for me though. Work mixed with plenty of chaotic business Has me buried for a bit. Shoot me a pm in about a week or two and we will talk. |
Re: Chaotic Ultra4 gmade hybrid Hellz yeah! So glad it went to a proper home. Cannot wait to see your many updates! |

I did have a question for you though. Where did these side panels come from? They are bad ass! |
Re: Chaotic Ultra4 gmade hybrid Turning into me eh Marc? new rig every other race? lol.. I have loved the Gmade cage. Question for you... though i may know the answer.. Why not run the Portals? Strength issues? parts? I want portals! dont you? Cant wait to drive with you again.. its been far too long! Take care and keep it up. its looking mean |
Re: Chaotic Ultra4 gmade hybrid I've heard the portals suck. I doubt they could handle the abuse we throw down in ultra4. Plus parts availability. I want to have a rig for both classes. This way I can run whichever one I want. Plus I seem to always have my wraith in limbo with something being changed. This allows me the time to finish the wraith without being rushed. |

Re: Chaotic Ultra4 gmade hybrid good to hear on the weak spots. I have a Wide FJ build that would be completely topped off with a portal axle. only to match the 1:1. Thanks Tedo. |
Re: Chaotic Ultra4 gmade hybrid My 2 year old son has just been dying to help me work on this rig, so this weekend I took him to the hobby shop and let him pick out a paint color for the drivers helmet.(I also used this color throughout the interior in small spots) I also let him paint just a tiny bit as well. I tore the interior apart and gave basically everything a fresh coat of paint and some mods to get it to my liking. I also added a new steering wheel, shifter, gauges, battery, and battery cables. Here is the interior all finished up. http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...DC93D31235.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...DC9A97A3EC.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...DCA2D55961.jpg I've got a few more minor details for the interior, but those will come later. Then I started shoe horning my electronics in there and got it all word up and running. http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...DCB3940F0B.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...DCBB82A1AE.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...DCAA51ABBA.jpg This might be the fastest rig I own. My wraith with the 4 pole is fast, but this thing gets down with its bad self. It's probably way too fast, but I like my scalers to be fast. |
Re: Chaotic Ultra4 gmade hybrid I finally had time to mount up my new vanquish OMF wheels and ballistic fab reservoir shocks. :) I also got all my panels mounted. All I have left is to figure out how to fit dual 1300mah 3s lipos in here. http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...34E6A4D09D.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...34EDB8795C.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...34F5147DAD.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...34FAF8190B.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...3500C284DA.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x...3509033823.jpg These wheels are simply one of the coolest wheels I've ever encountered. But my god did it take some time to put all these screws in. |
Re: Chaotic Ultra4 gmade hybrid Sick!! The wheels and shocks totally changed it. Looks awsome man"thumbsup" |
