For once I have been out driving instead of documenting, but here is how it stands atm To try out the new version of the R1 Wraptor I made it 4WS. Better to have 2 pairs than 1 pair to try It handles quite good, but I got to much torque twist and the front need more weight which makes steep climbs impossible. I also have to do the underdrive mod to the rear axle. I have an idea for an overdrive mod for the front too, but I am waiting on parts for that. I have ditched the Thompson tires as I thought the grip was quite bad. Instead I got the new 2.2 XL Super Swampers which works great. To bad the Thompson wheels do not fit the Super Swampers but I have to try to make a new ring so I can use them. One thing I do not like with the R1 axles is to get a grip on the nuts that holds the Wrapter on the axle. So when I mounted my new Wraptors I put in some brass inserts instead. Works great and looks much better imho The season here in Sweden is almost over, so I will start making all the stuff I want for the R1; 4-link mount for the axles, battery tray that will be under the hood, a skid for the Axial transmission, and link adapters for the upper link mounts at the chassis to have more tuning options. I have also ordered some parts to make it a bit more "scale" like, so hopefully there will be more stuff happing here during the autumn/winter. | ||

This thing looks awesome Tobias! Knew you were designing parts for the R1, but never took much time to check out your thread. I'll be keeping an eye on this build!
