Default DravTech presents a sneak peak on the Gmade R1 Wrapter

Here is something I am working on.

Time to get some proper steering out of the R1 axles

The Gmade R1 Wrapter is an adapter that allows you to run Axial universals and Wraith/XR10 C-hubs and knuckles with the R1 axle.

Wraith adapter = Wrapter

I am close to be able to offer these ones to you. I have to make a small adjustment on the part before I feel confident enough to start to sell it.

The Wrapter will be sold in my coming store at Shapeways. More information and instructions how to modify the axial universals will be posted when the Wrapter is ready for sale.

Now the R1 will realize its true potential. Put me down for two sets!

The axle gets a bit wider yes. I will measure the knuckle to knuckle distance tonight on my axle. I use the VP Wraith knuckles.

The distance for knuckle face to knuckle face is 9.25".

I manage to figure out tonight how to make the changes I want to do in the model. Hopefully I can upload the new models to Shapeways this week and then it takes perhaps two weeks for me to get the new parts and check dimensions and fitment.

The only part that needs to be modified is the drive shaft. The rest of the parts are just to screw on (not counting tie and drag link).

The problem for me to offer modified drive shafts is that it would be quite costly for you. We have quite high taxes here in Sweden. So the $39 the drive shafts cost on amain ends up costing me $63 after tax and custom fee... Or I can buy the in my local store for $53 if they ever has it in stock... Then I have to add some for the work and shipping back to the other side of the pond.

On a more happier note, I have now updated my model of the R1 Wrapter and will order a pair of them during the weekend.

These make me want to buy another set of R1 axles, or maybe a complete R1

Can you go over the modifications in detail to the drive shafts? I'm thinking it's just cutting down the shaft to length and filing the shaft to create the keyway?

I will give a guide how to modify the drive shafts, but you are mostly correct in your assumption

Are you going to have the hole drilled in the top for the small set screw?
