Default Komodo to R1 questions.

I have read through alot of articles and haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. I was trying to switch over parts from my Komodo to an R1 chassis cause I like the tubers better than the scalers. I put it together and the drive shafts are too long. I found out they both use the same transmissions so I know that will work at least. I was wondering if maybe the drive shafts were just too long or if the links were too short. Has anyone else done this or tried too? Thanks for any info you can help with. I'm trying to get this solved before I get out and hit the rocks. Thanks again.

Pics?

I used just the chassis sides and my scx10 parts. Links and bracing were custom.

You could always download the Tapatalk app and use it to post pics. That's what allot of us do. It's easier then using Photobucket.

If the geometry is good with the link lengths you have and you’re happy with them. I’d suggest cutting the shafts down to make them work. Or find/make longer links.

Yeah I've noticed that I switched the screw around and it doesn't rub now but I don't get full shock travel up and down. But I installed the electronics and drove it around in the house and it seems to do just fine so far. I'm going to get it out as soon as it warms up here and see how it does outside. I have stuff to make some links so I'm thinking I may go ahead and do that anyway just to get a little more wheel base on it.

Well after making some links and playing around with the geometry I had a set of wraith links I had ordered so I used the bent ones and straight made on bottom and it seems like it will work. I will be hopefully taking it out this week and getting some run time in to see how it all works out.

Tanked the whole thing. Got a deal on everything but the chassis. So now my komodo is back together and getting all the nice scale bits. And the R1 is stockish. Do love the fact it has 4ws. I'll get some pics soon.
