So new pin fitted...5 mins out...running in a straight line...ping...its gone again. Always the offside ( longer one)....I suspect my "cup" could be worn or have an issue, so when my new ones arrive I will only change the offside. If it breaks again I will just a a refund and go back to dog bones.

Dang that's a bummer. When you say gone is it falling out or snapping? and you were saying its undersized by .6mm?

On another note I was looking over a few of the extra bits that come on the Gom parts trees and I had a look at the servo mount for the axle which would never work up front, there's no clearance. So either this tree is intended for other rigs too or there might be a rear steer option possibly. I'd hate to complicate the truck much more though.
Just thinking out loud here

That’s odd being the same side every time, must be something more than just the cvas

I was doing the same thing last week. But I was thinking of using it at the front just to try it out. While I had the front end opened up, I figured I'll try doing double shocks at the front as well. The shocks were rubbing against the lanyard bar so I ended up removing it and changing it to 4 link.

I haven't tried it out yet. Still need a shorter upper link to fix the angle of the front axle after I installed the double shocks.

Did you get rid of your 2-speed setup for 4-link?

Does that front diff guard get hung up on rocks often? I want something to protect that area from excessive scraping, but that guard looks like it would get hung up a lot.

On junfac the pin size is 11.4mm. I think that my cup is worn. It was fine for a while, then once it started it hasnt stopped. I think it snaps and then drops out as its tiny then. I have put new circlips on as well just be sure, but there is play there...so I suspect it moves and then when not completely seated snaps. Its a shame really as I like the model....but with this and the gearbox its enough to put you off. I wondered if the bomber cvas would fit but I suspect they are too short.

2 speed ous still there. I just mounted both upper links further inside. I used a spacer on the original upper link.

The axle guard doesn't get hung up. I made it from stainless steel I had around. It has a little flex. I also made one for the bottom. I bent out using a table vise.

Do you have room to slide an o ring against the pin ?
That might solve the pin from dropping out and keep tension on it

As far as I can see using the axle servo mount will take away about 3/4" of travel, though the way you have your axle twisted it does look like theres more clearance than I saw on mine.

My brother has the front and rear axle guards from Junfac and they do get hung up easily, the rear particularly as it has a sharp 90* bend facing forward. He's already thinking about removing them.

Nice, at first I thought your guards were the ones that GMADE/Junfac were selling. Very similar.

I want to make my own as well, but I was thinking of trying to make something more molded around the diff instead of squared off. I'll have to think about it a bit.

Im not sure where I could place one to be honest..

http://junfac.com/product/ga60-cva-k...167/display/1/

Here is a look at how they are. The pin barely reaches each eyelet in the cup.

maybe replacing the snap ring with a metal zip tie might help, if it fits.

That's strange. Sounds like something definitely going on with the cup.

I haven't checked yet, but I wonder if the cup part of the CVA can be replaced with one from a Sawback or something similar.

I got it from rcmart. Now all I need is a driver. Tried finding one, but most are a little too pricey. Still searching.

Looks like my cup is too big. Ive sat down and had a proper look with pin number 4 (Gm60065 2x11.4mm) and it just doesnt make it across. In the pictures you can see i actually needed a flash to see the pin on one of tge sides. The pin splitting has also started to chew up the c-hub. I did try some cvas that i have lying around for my scx as spares, but the cup doesnt have the diameter to go around the GOM ball. Guess i will just have to wait for RCmart to deliver. Sigh. Chinese new year has sliwed everything down!

isn't there supposed to be a retaining ring around that groove to hold the pin in place? Like this GPM yeti CVD?

Without that ring the pin will spin out through centrifugal force which would explain the snapping and the damage to the hub.

I would have said there should be, there is on the Komodo CVAs
