What "hardware issues"? And I really wonder what is overly complicated about it. It has a lot of features so it is going to be complicated.

Learned my lesson, and I picked up a DeWalt driver and MIP bits this time around. On another note: I picked up the sway bar and trailing arm upgrades from GMade. I wish I would've watched the whole video where he mentions the VP Yeti trailing arms are an identical fit. Last edited by soze; 10-06-2017 at 01:42 PM.

It is not an axial, GMade has a unique way of getting places. The hardware is all hex not phillips, no power driver, I couldn't do it I know my R1 was a tight fit everywhere.

Harley was doing the TRX-4 video and he was using manual drivers despite a power driver sitting right next to him. Credibility out the window in my book. LOL Quote:

I only watched the first 5 minutes. I couldn’t get past what seemed like petty jabs at the familiar parts.

Harley's Facebook post made me laugh. He was bashing GMade and saying how they are subpar compared to Axial. Most Axial vehicles need more upgrades out of the box than any other brand. I can't even take anything he says about this vehicle seriously anymore. Watched a few minutes of his video. He said he was worried about the durability of the GMade, without even trying it of course, and then proceeded to say he'd throw AR60 axles under it! That's funny right there. I've had good experience with my Sawback as well. I'm sure every manufacturer has QA issues here and there. Axial isn't excluded from problems either. With my Yeti kit, I was missing screws, screws placed in the wrong bags, and the kit even came with the 94mm CVAs that had to be replaced by the 92mm CVAs since the 94mm ones were causing issues. Didn't make me like it any less though, it's unique and I like variety in my collection. As far as packaging goes... The most impressive to me so far was MST for the way they neatly separated out each piece of hardware into blister packs that are grouped together in a step. Even the bag for plastic sprue parts was neatly bagged and bundled up together. Next was the Kyosho and Tamiya re-releases with their classic style use of cardboard sections to separate parts, and then there is Axial which like GMade and most other kits just bags everything up and throws it into the box. |

I had no issues with parts and assembly on the R1. The mechanics were quite durable vs axial Hang up and Drive |

Have i completely lost my marbles thinking " i wonder how i can swap my SCX10 II tranny for that GOM tranny so i could have more gears and dig" Remember not much in the line of comps or rules for scalers in Denmark. |

Something like a DMG plate for the Bomber to fit a Wraith tranny. Or fab a new skid.

No i want to keep my 2 speed SCX10 II gearbox, but i might swap my transfer case for that g made one, if i can brainstorm a way to tie the 2 things together. But i do think this mean i will have to fab a new center skid, and i will probably have to mess with link geometry too doing that. Too bad no store here will get the Gom in so i could go have a close look with my fingers, guess i will just have to wait a little and then pick up a complete transfer case. I should have typed T case and not tranny English are only my #2 language. |

I had a hard time watching Harleys build video... it was clear he was going to trash this kit the whole time.. right from the beginning. Complaining about the smell.. saying that gmade obviously never drove this kit before putting it out.. when there is a bunch of running videos on YouTube... and the rig looks very capable in all of them. Saying it has no purpose... and the ground clearance was too high. Yet one of his all time favorite trucks is the wraith? There's no way it was an unbiased review. Just a rant... I've been building mine and have not had a single issue. Last edited by Dustinf; 10-07-2017 at 10:15 PM. |

I admit... I havnt gone back and reread to see if this was already posted. So if it has.. let me know and I'll delete it. From the manual, I did some math on gearing: Spur/Pinion Ratio: 4.31:1 Differential Ratio: 3 Tranfer Case Ratio: 1.82 1st Gear (Low) Transmission Ratio: 2.19 Total Ratio (Final drive): 51.5088:1 Rollout: 0.34:1 Second Gear (High) Transmission Ratio:*1.43 Total Ratio (Final Drive): 33.6336:1 Rollout: 0.52:1 |

They recommend about 3600kv for a "fast" crawler and 27t for a slow crawler. The green GOM in their promo footage is powered by a 4000kv motor 14t pinion.. so I figured I bought a decent choice for a mix of both. But then they said 4000kv might be pushing it on the stock drive train... so who knows. I plan on upgrading the drive train asap anyways and if I have to going for a 10.5t (~3600kv) motor.. That's what I have in my TH and Yeti and they run great. I liked that the toro and area are siilver and black.. especially because they will be visible in this rig.

I did the math and a 4100kv motor will have a top speed of about 17mph in second gear with a 14t pinion. Seems like it should be much faster. But this this is geared really low. |
