Rob one from another rig and stick it in there already.

Very nice. I'm going to start mine soon. I've been finishing my MST CFX-W... and I finally got to run it.

Can't wait to start this build.

I haven't decided where to go with power on this yet.

I've got a Castle Monster X and a Hobbywing 1080 ready to be used, but only have 2S lipos at my disposal. I suppose I should jump on the 3S train sooner or later.

One thing I am curious about. How heavy is this truck compared to a Bomber? That may help me decide what to power this thing with.

Good question. What does it weigh on the hoof?

Sorry I don't recall the ounces but I weighed my brothers Gom at 7 lbs and 6 or 8 oz, around 7 1/2 lbs. it feels pretty light to me, but I always end up with heavy rigs so I may be biased there.
He was using a 540 motor, a fairly normal 5 1/2" in long 2S battery and stock tires at the time.

BTW I just switched over everything I run to 3S and I've been loving it! although I dont know if the Gom is 3S ready, I think a few pages back someone mentioned it looked like it might not be.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Looks insane.

My only suggestion if I were to order panels and could be done is to extend the roof to the edge of the rear light bucket.

Something like this for the visually impaired like me

Very nice. Compact but looks good too. I run a servo extension while I tune the esc and due to the room I would leave it. My paws are to big to monkey around with small plugs.

Second pic for the roof panel.

Yup I built it and didn't like it. I always form strong opinions and usually quickly. Sometimes they change over time but not too often.

I still don't like this car but I absolutely wanted to. It looked like Gmade had finally made something that looked cool. I have owned every Gmade except the Komodo, all the way back to the MOA clod sized crawler from the mid 2000's.

If this is going to be a slow crawler with a brushed motor, maybe it will be alright. But the diff lockers will blow long before even a stock Axial would. That little locker is ridiculous and the amount of engagement the axle shafts have into is going to make it even worse by focusing the load on a tiny area.

The 2 speed and dig is a pretty impressive thing to throw into a kit for $330 and most of it isn't bad at all other than annoying E-clips but oh well. Then they get to the shift lever and come up with this shitty little slider that runs in a terrible slot design. In the real world with dust, mud and water that is going to go south. Hopefully someone comes up with a lever style design and a redesigned tunnel that goes between the front trans and rear T-case.

The driveshafts are throw-a-ways. Exposed tiny clips on the outside of the U-joint is a joke.

Just like the bomber, this car needed to come with a rear sway bar.

Working on this car will be the worst part. Building it as a kit with the manual in front of you is less convenient than most cars I've built. The number of different length hardware immediately adjacent to each other is what often drives me nuts. I rarely work on my car after the fact with the manual any where in sight, good luck remembering which screw sizes are supposed to go where

Will it be fine for most people, sure. Will it stand up to what many of the hardcore guys expect, I'd bet money that it won't. And while I can't point you to any Axial that I've ever owned that would out of the box, we have that huge caveat looming that we know that any thing we need to make it stand up will be made.

So far just crawling around the house outside on my rocks the esc is doing good and was easy to program with the card.Next step to get it out for some testing.

Do you think Vanquish will make any parts for this?

Many of your issues with the kit have been repeated by other people.

Personally, my kit it is going together really well and I havnt had really any problems. But I havnt driven it yet.

The hardware sorting is an issue... pulling from several different bags of screws on the same step is a pain. But I've yet to strip a screw.. That's more than I can say about the Twin Hammers hardware.

Also lack of space for a large or even medium receiver. There is so much room on the skid however.. I can see people running wires and utilizing this area. It would help with weight too.

What do you guys think the chances of getting spider gears for this is?

If like the option of opening up the front diff. Maybe like a limited slip type thing.

If anyone knows of anything, id be keen to hear.

I might throw some aftermarket support at this truck, need to build it first and see what the problem is...
