Thanks for the reply, ended buying them by the piece directly from Fast Eddy Bearing website...

I hope they put a bearing kit together sometime soon, it'd be nice to see other companies interested in making mods for the Gom.

I had a question for you about the upgrade knuckles and the rear lockouts, do the bearings fit any tighter in these? The holes for the bearings on the stock parts are a bit on the large side and the bearings move around a bit and will fall right out.
I saw what you said about the brass bushings not fitting well, that's unfortunate.

Every bearing so far has snapped into place some requiring a bit more force. Remember though, I am using Fast Eddy bearings throughout and they may have a tighter tolerance than stock.

I'm not pleased with this myself. I need to play with them some more.

cool thanks , I tried some fast eddies bearings in the stock parts and they were still just as sloppy a fit, so I'm leaning towards the stock plastic parts being to blame.

Build is going slow but painting is coming along nicely and my color scheme is close to how I envisioned it. I will be starting paint on the upper chassis soon. Barndog panels are here waiting on paint as well.

Money is tight for the electronics I want in addition to the second JunFac order I need. I may also be moving to the Ozarks sooner than I planned as well.

Added Team XRAY 12mm wheel hexes to replace the stock ones. They are a little spendy for what they are but I don't care, they fit well and this is my first and only rig over the past 20 years, I'll throw money at it.

Working on the transmission today. I love metal gears!! Transfer case is on hold for aluminum dig forks to return to stock, I don't want to assemble it only to tear it apart.

Parts:
G-Made Aluminum Hi/Lo Shift Fork (GM30087)
JunFac Hardened Steel 32P 16T 1st gear (LO) (J30020)
JunFac Hardened Steel 32P 35T 1st gear (LO) (J30021)
JunFac Hardened Steel 32P 21T 2nd gear (HI) (J30022)
JunFac Hardened Steel 32P 30T 2nd gear (HI) (J30023)

You may have just build with the plastic dig fork. As far as I know, that part has never been in stock. I'm still waiting for that part myself.

Yes, I know. We've discussed this before. I have it on order, dude seems pretty confident he will have them at the end of the month. However, we all know Active Powersports poor track record. I'm going to give him a bit longer before I cancel my order.

Some success re: brass knuckle bushings. It looks like they will fit the aluminum knuckles, it is a very tight fit, I just finished one side. Beer and raw determination resulted in the knuckles attaching to the carrier. Now to do the other side.

rant!

I ordered tires from RC4WD, turns out they shipped from Hong Kong. I'm really annoyed I wasn't informed of this ahead of time, I would have ordered from one of their retailers.

ok, rant off.. sorry

Wow, transmitters have come a long way in 20 years. I just received my FlySky FS-GT5, it looks and feels amazing for the price. The RX is super tiny as well, wow.

Slow progress is better than no progress. Time to paint my Barndog Fab aluminum panels next. Frame is painted with Tamiya Yellow and two shades of Gunmetal.
