"go to rig" Thats pretty much how it is with my friend too, and its not like he lack cars to drive, he have at least 2 of each of the worthwhile scalers, hell he have 2 highlift too just not seen action for a decade. I am committed to the 10.2 but it do work fine for me. |

That really does look great. If only my money and time matched my wishlist...

Something about these rigs I've really liked since the first time I seen one. That's a great looking rig you have brother. Any videos of this thing doing work?

Sorry, I don't have much video footage of this machine. I do have this one though taken a while ago: https://youtu.be/JR5Tgr_Wkd0 |

Have you massaged your servo height or anything? I'm just asking because when I tried to put in some 10.2 shock hoops the Panhard wont clear. I didn't spend much time trying to solve it so I may be able to find my own solution but I thought I'd check with you.. It'll likely fit if I can find find the right bent rod-end for the chassis side but the panhard mount hangs quite a bit lower on the bom.. |

Yes, I raised the servo a few mm with spacers for Panhard / servo arm clearance.

On our drive Sunday my friend brought 2 of his SCX 10.2 cars, dident take long before he started to whine about not having the BOM instead. Probably due to my SCX10.2 putting the hurt on most people there, not least the other guys also driving on C1 tires. |

I'm building a Gs02 Ta pro chassis. I can choose between 3 options for read shocks setup: -rear shock hoop (the same a stock scx10) -rear cantilver system -rear shock relocation (the one I can see in your most recent photos) Can you confirm rear shock relocation is the way to go ? I read you were quite disappointed with cantilever so I will discard it. Did you try rear shock hoop ? I'm only interested in performance and I'm a bit concern by rear shock relocation because the ground clearance behind the axle is reduced by the shock mount hubs. Thanks Filippo |

I'm running the cantilever and I've got it working really well. Really good articulation and good stability. Three things are required in order to make the cantilevers work well: 1) Outboard the lower link mounts 2) Install Stiff springs to the shocks (I ordered mine from Junfac) 3) Run heavier shock oil - I'm currently running 60 wt but will probably go up to 80wt or so With that set-up, I was absolutely blown away at how well it performs when I first took it out. Articulation is spot and there's 0 torque twist.

And above all do you use a sway bar at the rear ? It is another way to reduce torque twist and I know it is available as an upgrade for the Gs02. I'm wondering if it is worth to buy or make one. Thanks Filippo

I don't use the sway bar; I've always felt that sway bars should never be used on crawlers so I was very glad to find a solution that works without using one.

But, now that I'm using an SSD 10.2 rear axle, I am able to extend the wheelbase while still using the cantilever shock configuration with a sway bar. I just did a quick test and now the performance is exceptionally good on all of my "extreme" testing crawling areas I use. I tried back-to-back crawls with and without the sway bar and without the sway bar, I could NOT conquer some of these sections and the front left wheel was always high in the sky!!! I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you QuesoDelDiablo, a sway bar does have it's use in crawlers...not all of them, but definitely the GS02. I'm using a home made sway bar and I'm going to order the Gmade sway bars to try out the different sway bar thicknesses.

I followed Soze's (I think?) lead and installed the stiffest of the 3 Gmade swaybars on my son's BOM yesterday. I think that was just what the Dr. ordered for the cantilever setup. It still articulates just as far as before, it just doesn't instantly "dump" over to the passenger side as soon as torque is applied. We're planning on adding some 10.2 brass knuckles next, but for now the 4.25oz of weight in the lower rx box (or "rox box" as we call it) has made a tangible improvement. Bilinvic: I'm afraid there are rules against running those Toyota wheels with an "American iron" body! |

After lots of Axial trucks I decided it was time to check what other brands are doing. I'm a bit concerned because it seems that gmade in general and above all the new Gs02 is not so widespread. I'm still building my Ta pro and I already miss some after market upgrade which are available for SCX10 II such as axle servo mount. Don't think other manufacturers will produce spares and upgrades for the gs02 if it doesn't reach a higher market percentage. What about the spares ? I noticed U.S. big resellers have a limited assortment of spares. Perhaps things are a bit better here in Europe but most parts are out of stocks also on cmldistribution, which is the main distributor. Do you buy directly from Korea ? Quote:
That wheelbase is my goal too. I think I will make front link longer using Jato rod ends as I did with Scx10 II. I remember it was a nightmare because I had to push forward panhard and steering rod with bad interference problems to solve. Anyway approaching angles improved drastically. Bye Filippo

I'm surprised the BOM isn't gaining more widespread attention...it's such a good truck and the fact that some 10.2 aftermarket parts fit is perfect. Yes, I have bought directly from Junfac a couple of times without disappointment.
