I’ve got one sitting in a box ready to be built, looking forward to some time in the shop.

Nice video. I can't believe that's a stock Ascender! Very cool to see one in the wild.

I really wish this kit had been available when I got my SCX10 II.

Here's a section of CDM rocks that Browneye and his buddy introduced me to. When I saw it, I was like, "how in the hell?". Then he and his buddy proceeded to make it up. That was it... I had to make it up that section that day.

After many tumbles... I finally made it up several times when I got the hang of it! It's really much more impressive in person than on video. The video doesn't really show the correct perspective of how impressive making it up that section really is.

One wrong placement of the rear driver's side tire completely ruins the climb and results in a tumble.

Looked like a lot of fun and great place to crawl!
Should prove the GMade haters wrong also.

Ran into a snag with the hardware included with the brass weights.... 1 of the 4 screws was too long.

Anyway, I used a dremel to cut it down as I did not happen to have that particular size screw in my parts boxes. I was reluctant to do this, because I was worried about a bad cutting job possibly ruining the threads of the knuckles. I guess it turned out ok though.

Hey Soze, I would like to know if the knuckles and weights just bolt on or did you have to modify / dremel someting to get it mounted? And did they effect the steeing radius?

They bolt right up! You have to use the stock C-Hubs though.

No effect on the steering radius.

Took the BOM out to CDM Rocks again on Sunday. I love the way this truck performs.

That is one nice looking rig that performs pretty dang good too.

I wonder how the SCX10.3 will stack up to the GS02.

Your BOM looks the BOMB soze. I've always liked this rig and have come close to pulling the trigger on one several times. Watching your vids makes me want to go ahead and do it. I really like the fact that you don't see a bunch of them out there either.

Thanks guys, I need to get this rig out again. I'm considering going to the V shock setup though. The cantilever is cool, but it's not going to perform as well as the V setup I feel.

I regret getting the GS02 TS kit now after looking at this thread + looking at the TA Pro. Thought I'd save some money but the aluminum ball ends, metal locker and steel driveshafts are worth the premium alone, not to mention the rear suspension options.

Oh well, live and learn.

Thanks for all the part numbers and links! I just ordered the rear metal locker and will be getting the SCX10 wheel weights and hubs at some point.

The Chinese brass scx10ii Knuckles on ebay work too if you want to save some cash. I did a lil bit of sanding to get full turning but wasn't terrible. I had all the option parts for cantilever on my rig and it performed well. I recently switch to the v setup and will NOT be going back. It was cool but the way it performs now is cooler.

Still running this rig soze? Does is keep up with the performance of the since released Element Enduro? As a guy who is on top of the current releases, I would be curious to know how you find this stands next to the later releases. Your build thread here is great, I very much enjoyed going through it. This looks like an a fun kit to build.

The Enduro performs better out of the box, but part of the reason is the cantilever and the lack of overdrive. It is by no means incapable, it can still do a lot but you'd have to do a few things like ditch the rear cage, and change the rear shock setup to either the V setup or the traditional shock hoop setup to be as capable. I'm curious to try the new transmission in the GS02F because of the addition of overdrive. I've been actually thinking about getting my BOM up and running again. Only reason I haven't is that I haven't had the chance to paint up a new body for it yet. The current one is bashed and cracked.

I'll try to get it up and running without the rear cage and different shock setup to see how it compares.
