Default Fresh Komodo build 2 speed.

Ive built a few Komodo's, R1's and a Sawback as well. I wanted to do this one a little different with a 2 speed and front motor. I went with a planetary reduction unit up front, 55T motor to a 2 speed transfer case. Happy with the overall gearing. crawls scale in low gear, and has decent wheel speed in high. I ended up doing a stealth body mount as well to keep it scale. I havent driven it outside yet and may not. might just be a shelfer. I would like a yota body for it and the white steel wheels.... hmmmm anyway heres the pics. comments questions welcome!

Very cool! I like where this is going.

How did you mount GRU in the front?

So here is a little closer look at the mounting. It was actually the perfect width to just drill and bolt directly to the frame rail. I have temporarily mounted the shift servo, although I will probably end up moving it or at least coming up with a better mount than a zip tie.. lol I cut a stock drive shaft down to use between the GRU and the transfer case. I have steel shafts going in for the front and rear drive shafts.

This looks awesome. I like the idea of a 2 speed trans. How does it fair on the rocks?
