| Have a fix for the GOM shifter, I came up with a fix for the GOM shifting problem. Bench tested the heck out of it and it still works. One problem, I can't get the photos and instructions to post here. They are posted on the FB GOM owners group. Now to get on Shark Tank for some funding and yee haw. You were right, it was easy. What do you think about my "fix"?

Looks like a solid solution to me. The stock shift mechanism is pretty flawed.

| Re: Have a fix for the GOM shifter, Been testing the hell out of my "wachacalit" and not a single glitch yet. Got rid of the servo saver horn and installed a normal arm. If you're going to do this, get your end points on the nose or you will transfer a lot of stress to the servo mount using an all steel gear servo. Furthest I've mailed one is to Germany so far. |

Old Rhino, did you happen to measure how far the "shifting rod" sticks out on either side in high or dig? Manual says 8mm but the best I can get is 5mm - servo won't travel anymore without moving itself and the rod can't be pulled further. Without being fully assembled, it appears to be working correctly. ebay 274264383177 Last edited by BlackVenom; 05-20-2020 at 09:47 PM. |

| Re: Have a fix for the GOM shifter,
Going by Gmade instructions each shaft starts with 1mm exposed and when setting aux. servo travel Gmade shows 8mm end of shaft to case. Tell me they suggest 7mm of travel after any slop is taken up to complete shift. I modified my gears slightly, (high/low and norm/dig). I machined 1mm off the "dogs" and increased the face angle a tad. On the high/low so I could shift on the fly while hill climbing. And on the norm./dig gears to be able to hit the mid point between to let my rear end free wheel. Great on an obstetrical course when you need to haul ass on flat ground around corners and not flip from over travel rear steer.
