| Shorten GOM to 12.3" parts out there? Any parts already being made to shorten GOM wheelbase to around 12.3"? Am I going to need to fabricate everything from scratch? It's 15" there about with stock links. Are R1 links shorter? Now to see if I can design and fabricate new links before someone reply's. |

Measure the links and can probably get the links you need, axial ss links have some of lengths. Yeah racing and rc4wd also have some other link length. Check rpp hobby or Amain hobby. If you don't find the right length making links isn't very hard to make there two easy ways get some m3 or m4 threaded rod and cut to length and attach the rod ends or option 2 get some 1/8in or the next size up (i think) aluminum rod and drill and tap a hole in it then put set screws in and attach rod ends. If you want to keep the shock on the links I don't have a good answer for that. good luck. Last edited by Dezertdirt; 02-21-2020 at 09:54 PM. |

Thanks for the reply. I started gathering the parts for making my own links. 7/32" T6 aluminum round stock, aluminum Heim joints that have an offset and going to try the bottom rear shock mounts from the first Losi JRXT trucks. Looks like they will saddle the 7/32" round just right using a shoulder screw. Now I just need the "time".

| Re: Shorten GOM to 12.3" parts out there? With the GOM's wheel base at just about 15" the pickings are mighty slim as to a scale appearing pick up body. My "grand plan" is to shorten up the rear suspension enough that the wheel wells on a Tamiya Bruiser body line up to a scale appearance. I have two old bodies available and my plan is to narrow the tail end and front about 2-3/16", which fits the GOM perfect. Then section into the cab to make it 13/16" longer. This also leaves me with a boat load of vintage Bruiser running gear to sell so to buy materials and pay off the wife for time to get it done. That's the plan anyway. |
