Coming together nicely! I've envisioned a similar build for sure, cool to see one come to life.

I dont know if you've considered the rear sway bar but I'd highly recommend it, without it is pretty floppy like a Bomber and loves to lift its front left tire. At least it should fit in because they run a rear sway bar probably front too.

I second this.

HumboldtEF & soze - Yes, in the couple runs I've done I noticed that. I definitely intend to outfit the rig with the swaybar.

Such a sick truck, well done! I am seriously mulling over picking up a GOM to build my 2.2 rig, and this definitely makes me even more excited to do that.

Thanks Stretch! I'm in the final "stretch" of completing it. (See what i did there!)

Working with Nathaneal at MCI Racing to source the custom decals and waiting on weather to warm up and dry out to shoot the panels in satin black.

Hmm MCI does custom decals? I am not the biggest fan of the quality of their repro decals. I wonder if originals would be better.

Anyway, this rig is looking serious!

Thanks Jato! Yes, Nathaneal will do custom work. It does involve getting him some art work, etc.

Snapped a few last pics of Project Dragon Slayer in raw panels before they get scuff sanded, primed and painted up. I think I've been subconsciously postponing painting because it's gonna be a bit painful to cover up all the panel work I did!

Anyway, as long as weather permits, I'm planning on starting in to it this weekend. I'll post some updates as I go.

I think my plan for phase 2 is going to be adding a sweet 3D printed engine out back from Benchmark RC. If you have not seen his stuff, do yourself a favor and check him out on Instagram. Insanely detailed work!

I missed these latest update shots - It's damn near perfect as is, can hardly imagine what your final mods will result in...

Thanks durok - I greatly appreciate that! It's been a while since i've been logged in here on the forums, so playing a bit of catch up. Anyway, below are some pics of the finished product. I decided to go with a wrap and have the logos integrated right in to that versus the paint and separate stickers. I just think it looks so much cleaner and seamless that way. Thoughts on the rig - it's very capable. Still need to do some additional test and tune, but i've been impressed. Weight bias / balance is awesome. The rear swaybar is a MUST though. I am underwhelmed with the 550 HH TM can. This rig can use a lot more power and wheelspeed. To that end, I think i'm going to end up going brushless with it. Have not decided on a system yet, but I'm thinking Mamba X and 2700kv or thereabouts.

Its looking sweet, hope to get mine looking that good some day. I like the rear panels how you have them all one piece.

I got a mamba x with 2850, or a HH Crawlmaster 550 10t, I may put in mine eventually, want some more speed too.

Thanks Bro! Yeah, mine will definitely being going brushless. The 550T is ok for slow crawl, but this rig wants more!

Hot damn, that is just WICKED!

All the custom touches are really well thought out.

Graphics, beadlock rings, exhaust ports, roof scoop, driver figure, the list just goes on!

Wow! This beast looks great. Now, it needs a good dusting :-)))) Did you do the stickers as one big piece per panel or did you paint over them? They look really good too!

Thanks! The logos / stickers are printed right in to the wrap, and it's one solid piece per individual panel.

I've been communicating with Benchmark RC on Instagram. I think the finishing touch for this beast is going to be one of his awesome, spectacularly detailed, 3D printed engines. It will reside out back just as the 1:1 rig. Anyway, he actually integrates small motors that make belts, fans, pulleys function. If you have not checked his stuff out, do yourself a favor and go peep his account now. Just insanely good! benchmark_rc on Instagram.
