Default Addiction...

Why do I want one of these so badly? I've been watching videos and combing threads for a couple weeks... They aren't great crawlers as near as I can tell, the steering and suspension leave something to be desired, there's not a huge aftermarket for them (especially in 2021!)...

But man, do I want one...

I got one of those that I bought the chassis from eBay, used scx10 axles and a sensored motor so it’s kind of a Frankenstein rig and not the best for crawling but it sure is fun,

I bet it is...

I know if I get one, I'll drop Holmes electronics into it, prolly set it up with new tires, 4ws and dig right off the bat. It'll be different to my Bully, though. That's for sure.

It is not a bad truck. If you go in knowing it is not a comp crawler and never will be, it is a fun truck. If you get on, do yourself a favor and take all the tiny bearings and toss them in the trash. Put in oilite bushings.

I was planning Fast Eddie's bearings. What's the differences/benefits with bushings?

**Having read a couple threads on the subject, I think I'm sticking with the bearing plan.

The truck has (22) 5x8x2.5 bearings. When the bearings fail you chew up the portal gears. Every place else I run bearings.

Personally I will deal with the extra drag to keep the gears in one piece.
