Default Sawback Questions

Now that you've run your Sawbacks, I have a couple of questions just to see where you all are on a couple of things.

Have you vented your Sawback wheels? Do you see the need? I haven't but I think I'm going too.

Have you gone to a larger diameter tire? I've switched to the Trepadors. I may go back to stock when my new skid plate shows up.

What turn motor and pinion tooth count are you using? I am using a 35T Tekin motor with a RR 15 tooth pinion. I am going to try a 12 tooth RR. I switched from the stock 12 tooth pinion because mine was very noisy. The RR quieted things down.

Are you running 2s or 3s? I am running 3s.

Did you glue in your windshield glass when you installed it or just slide it under the tabs? Mine is just under the tabs and not glued.

Thanks guys.

Left my wheels sealed, I run in water a lot.
Stock tires turned backwards grip well and tall enough
35t Integy motor with 11t pinion
2s
No glue, it's a scale rig so I don't plan on rolling it much

I've seen a couple of videos of this rig, and so far all three videos showed a distinct lack of flexibility...especially in the front. The ride Looked stiff to me also. Anybody worked a little on the front shocks at all? Seemed that that was the issue, from the vids anyway. Considered buying one, but backed off when I saw this.

Yes it's a pretty typical leaf spring rig Greg. I do remember my TF2 got a little more flexible with use, I'm hoping this one will too. The shocks have an internal spring, no oil. I had their bigger brother on my F-350 but swapped them out for some Gmade oil filled diaphragm shocks. I think the Sawback's stiffness is actually caused by the leafs and not the shocks. It's looking like it will be a nice trail rig, it's definitely not a crawler. I've had it on these rocks and it doesn't do too badly. It works much better now that I have gone to the larger diameter tires. I like the Gmade tires it came with, just wish they were a little taller. I have to say overall that it is a well made rig. I'm happy with it and not at all sorry I bought it.
