Default LRTd5's WILLYS CJ 3A / SAWBACK

This is, how it looks actually ...

Here are some pics , how things started ...

http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/g-mad...ml#post4603311

and later ... after having some outdoor fun ...

...it was time to improve the general look of the grill and Hood...

and to be prepared, when the mail is coming with the brand new CRAWLSTER 4S steering system .... which arrived finally yesterday...
the Willys had to go back to the Scale Shop...

Since I am very pleased with the Crawlster - systems, I have in my Axial rigs, I am very curious how it will work in the Sawback ...

Regards
Wolf

LRTd5's ~~~ WILLYS CJ 3A ~~~

Here is the build thread. Awesome job!

That steering link is sweet. crawlster 4S

Here is a link to it. It's in German but it fixes the Ackerman so these trucks should turn better

What shall I say...

the mounting was a very easy job and the obvious positive result is pretty good visible on the first pics....
...later today, I will take hopefully some outdoor shots and I will also test it outside....
Driving in the room is already much better! Circle is much smaller ....

I think, I like it very much. Looks like the guys at "Crawlster" did a good Job...

The "Crawlster kit-parts" even match perfect with the RC4WD HighLift Knuckels I used in this built ...(had them in my spare parts box since some years -- and never used them in my F350, but since they also fit perfect with the original Gmade parts -- there was no reason to change them)

First pics....

Nice positive ACKERMANN ....

Took the WILLYS out of the scale-shop, for a little test ride after I installed the new steering system ...

Was a lot of fun and a pretty good experience ...makes a huge difference.

I expected this, after the first "indoor-test" ... but now it is much more fun with this system inside, because I like the slow more technical trails

As I know, there isn't (yet ??) a vendor in the States or Canada...
but try to contact them .... I am pretty sure that they will send them also "over the ocean" ...

Haha -- thats funny -- because one of the first pics, when I searched for some inspiration was such an old, busted and rusted plow-Jeep ...

looks they are still very popular for this purpose ...

Since I destroyed yesterday by mishap my WILLYS photobucked archive and had to reorganize all the pics I used in the threads ....I "found" some more shots, I find worth to share ....

Added gmade alu-c-hubs ( took no pics from this ) and some "tailgate-chains"...

More scale items, very nice. What's the object on the right rear quarter, antenna mount maybe? Ah, never mind, I looked at some of your first photo's and saw what it is for.

...for the others who also want to know ..... it's like at the real thing the "spare tire carrier" ....

http://www.cj3apage.com/yabbfiles/At...pare_combo.jpg

but the Model has the same "problem" like the real one .... with the mounted spare tire, the car stands crooked (?) ....You can even see it in one of the vids .... so ... it's very realistic

The "tailgate" applique and chains look very realistic.
